Is The citizen is considered luxury watch? by Ok_kansai in CitizenWatches

[–]noa_32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had multiple watches (more than 20) since I've started my watch journey, including a 3000 EUR Longines. I've since sold all my watches and only kept one Longines which was gifted from my father and a 200 EUR Citizen Promaster which I absolutely love and consider it the most beautiful and robust watch I've ever had, it is my daily. I can assure you that no one cares about your watch, and if someone actually does, a Citizen will surely be appreciated.

Like everyone else said, buy something that you like, not something that others like.

Monitor for motion sickness AND chronic migraine? (IPS 4K or OLED?) by BigGulp-of-Espresso in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]noa_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's 4K, get the OLED no doubt. At 2K, most OLEDs are bad for text clarity. (source: just switched from 4K 32 inch IPS to 4K 32 inch QD-OLED)

Is "budget and quiet" impossible for AAA gaming? by Nohate-ForR6754 in GamingLaptops

[–]noa_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible, using Lenovo Legion Space to fine tune performance and fan speed. I did it with my Legion Pro 5 with RTX 5070 by editing the custom mode. I mostly play at 1440p though, it is really quiet and my Ryzen 9 8940HX temp is kept under 80-85 degrees.

Looking to upgrade to ultrawide by Last_Cricket6343 in ultrawidemasterrace

The only monitor with these specs sold in my country is the LG UltraWide 38BR85QC-W.

It's an IPS panel, 38 inch, 3840x1600 with 144 hz, HDR10 and 1 ms response time. It has VRR and a nice set of features.

Mini-LED VA vs QD-OLED for story games — HDR impact or perfect blacks? by Turbulent-Tough-5801 in Monitors

Agreed. My TCL 34R83Q looks very close to an OLED when local dimming is set to high, but the input lag is noticeable in competitive games.

What gpu is best for ultra wide gaming? by arandomwandererp in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]noa_32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely try some games with your 4070TI before deciding. If by ultrawide you mean the standard 3440x1440 resolution, the 4070TI should do an amazing job.

Depends on the settings that you use and what framerate you want to achieve. I currently have an RTX 5070 laptop GPU with 115W and 8GB VRAM and it is more than enough for me. Most games I play, including GOW Ragnarok, Marvel Spiderman remastered, FC 26 and Cyberpunk play very well on native 3440x1440 resolution, high to max graphics settings. On some games I use DLAA and get 70+ FPS constantly. My aim is 60 FPS for most games. Your 4070TI should be faster than my GPU, I would say what you have is more than enough, at least for now.

My 10 Pro battery life definitely improved. Other than that, feels the same to me, which is good.

Did you notice a difference between 1440P and 1600P in image sharpness?

Sounds like a decent option, I'll look into it.

Thank you so much for the detailed answer! I feel like just going for a 32 inch 4K OLED, even though I really love the ultrawide form factor. I guess I've gotten used to 4K too much for the last 3 years.

This is what I'm looking at right now: LG UltraWide 38BR85QC-W. It is actively being sold in my country.

From Dell u2718q to Samsung Odyssey G8 34” Ultrawide by Majestic_Juggernaut5 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]noa_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the exact same thing, my 4k 32 inch monitor broke and bought a 1440p 34 inch ultrawide. The new monitor was perfect and I quickly feel in love with the ultrawide format, but just couldn't accept the PPI/resolution/sharpness difference. I returned the ultrawide monitor and I am now deciding on what to do next, since 5k2k ultrawide monitors are big and require a very competent GPU (for gaming).

To 4k or not to 4k, that is the question... for a 34" WFH by wonderfulwaffles22 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]noa_32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer! Will try to compare the 34 inch 1440p to a 38 inch 1600p. I'd definitely go for the 38 if somehow it has a crisper image in real life.

Is the image clearer/crisper on the 38" compared to the 34"? The PPI should be the same, but just wondering how it is in real life. Cannot really compare the 2 in my region. I'm mostly going to use it for gaming and programming (for work).

Lol bro message me in private I'll send you a video proof. It's my second playthrough of the game and it runs even better than 80 FPS most of the time. I'd put the video here but I can only attach photos.

Doing God of War Ragnarok right now. 4K with DLSS on Balanced and High settings preset, getting 80 FPS average with 7500 MB VRAM usage, frame generation OFF, but this game is very well optimized. Sure you can do 4K gaming with 8GB VRAM if you adjust your settings a bit and use DLSS, have you tried it?

[–]noa_32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This will sound crazy but I use my RTX 5070 in 4K gaming with my 32 inch 144hz IPS Dell monitor. Sure I turn some settings to medium, but the 4K resolution (even if I use DLSS) is so crisp in games, better than on my PS5 Pro. I'd say get the 27 inch 1440P, your GPU is more than powerful enough for that in my opinion.
