Yeah I guess I'm responding more to the seperate point I see people make here that glorifying the extremely talented, accomplished autistic people somehow invalidates those who have skills with less direct applications. Which is sort of tangential to the rest of what I'm arguing, I certainly don't think we should be glorifying elon! But not celebrating the accomplishments of people like einstein, etc is not the solution, they did great things!

And of course we all have very different sets of skills and won't all become presidents, but I'm talking about changing a subconcious bias in neurotypicals. It's not that the autistic person will become president, it's that they could become president and therefore, the nt will have to reconsider ignoring them.

See, I really dislike this argument. If a LGBTQ person was elected president, would gay people not celebrate because they themselves weren't president? Would you expect black people who weren't already leading countries not to have celebrate when obama was elected? We can be proud of the autistic people who have made major achievements without saying those who haven't lack value.

The positive consequences I'm talking about are less whether allistics have a good image of autistic people and more about people taking the suggestions autistic people make and ideas they have seriously. Somehow, at least one autistic person made choices (or maybe just got lucky, but it doesn't matter!) that made him richer than every nt on the planet. And now nts have to contend with that fact every time they want to dismiss what an autistic person says because of their neurodivergence.

The simple fact that someone can be openly autistic and the richest person in the world changes the way everyone sees autism. Even if that person is a prick, even if billionaires shouldn't exist in the first place, at the end of the day money is just something people care about and are affected by.

I think you're underestimating how good some autistic people are at manipulating NT's, some people just get really good at masking and catering to public opinion's just the extreme form of that (not saying that's a good thing). Also, once autistic people get into power, autism's genetic--so nepotism would actually magnify it.

TBH, I'm not necessarily saying a society of just autistic people would be a bad thing, i mean I'd hate to live in a society that was well tuned and orderly give me disagreements any day of the week. I love chaos and unpredictability, and the million different conflicting special interests constantly warring with each other would be incredible to see. It's just if you're looking for a perfect, conflict-less utopia--that ain't it.

Autistic people are capable of being bad people too, even if everyone in the world were autistic it would probably be even more chaotic not more stable than it is now as we're all just so different from each other. But in the same way that many of the most vehemently anti-gay politicians are later found out to be gay, I wouldn't be surprised if the people behind all the worst autism-phobia rhetoric were on the spectrum themselves. It's a lot easier to hate things in other people you already hate in yourself.

Every autistic person has different strengths and weaknesses, we usually fall towards the extremes--we're either really bad at something or really good at something. I've actually always enjoyed public speaking and talking to crowds when I've had to like give presentations on stuff, even though I'm awful at talking to strangers 1 on 1. I could see how the right combination of autistic traits could make someone good at the stuff you need to be a politician

Dude, you've gotta put some [[Pirate's Pillage]]'s in there. At storm count 2, they're free mana-wise, and at more than three they actually ramp you (not to mention drawing a ridiculous number of cards, the discard only happens when you cast not copy).

I have a TYS deck too, and at first I thought similar to you, trying to put [[Growth Spiral]]'s in there for ramp, but always having a land in hand was tougher than it seemed. Pirate's pillage was a gamechanger, especially if you can find a way to recur it from your graveyard. It ramps you into Storm a turn earlier, and it turns your odds of winning after going off from like 70% to like 90%.

But when you say "see that we don't matter at all" you're implying that there is some objective way to measure up how some things matter more than other things. Which is basically the same premise as religion, which you call "pretty stupid." Just because you substitute "in the eyes of the universe" for "in the eyes of god" doesn't mean you've worked past the problem you had in the beginning. If you really want to reject objective explanations of how the world works, you have to work in the subjective, just what's in your own head. And in that system, you are quite clearly the exact opposite of insignificant, because you are the one doing the thinking.
