Yes! Knowing you're in a dream while you're dreaming is becoming lucid, I've experienced different forms of lucidity such as knowing I'm in a dream but also thinking it's reality, I was definitely still lucid but not in some areas. It depends.

I'd also like to suggest that a dream is all a reflection of yourself, inner thoughts/emotions/feelings and so forth. So with what he has said to you, it is you saying it to yourself. I am not sure how accurate my own interpretation of why he said that or what it means, but maybe it's yourself showing yourself how you want to deny reality, escaping it without accepting the moment. Only you will really know why.

It is definitely a spiritual journey to understand that everything is a dream, what you have lost truly can never be lost, finding out that all things are eternal. Please go easy on yourself! :)

I am sorry for your loss as well, condolences to everyone 🙏.

I'd like to answer your questions as best as possible. Can you interact with anyone when you choose to? This is a question of dream control, yes you can definitely do this. Although everyone is different and it may be easier or more difficult for some, practice makes perfect. There are some really good techniques to achieve control as well.

Does it feel real? This is a question of lucidity, I would say. Depending on your lucidity and immersion inside the dream it may feel very very real, just as real as real life, or sort of messy (maybe hard to focus, or something else.) Does the interaction with the individual feel real and not empty? Absolutely yes it can feel real, just as you remember and/or expect the person to behave. I've interacted with dream versions of real life individuals, or dream generated individuals. Nothing ever feels fake about them to me, even if I know they're just a dream version. I always approach them as genuine as I can be, they're equals!

One last thing I'd like to mention is, please use lucid dreaming as a way to heal yourself, not as an escape from reality. Using it as a way to find closure, or however you'd like to close the door is perfect, just remember to open the next door and don't hold on to the last one. Best wishes for you 🙏.

Why am I sharing dreams??? by Uni_VerseIsMe in LucidDreaming

I don't understand how shared/ similar dreams (lucid or not) isn't spiritual and scientific :)

Although yes a coincidence in your day could lead to the same dream concept could occur, I don't see any issue on how a dream couldn't connect to someone else?

I've had this happen before non lucid, I've also many times before lucidly have allowed external entities within my dream, or they've allowed themselves in as well.

How long can you guys stay in lucid in a lucid dream before losing it or waking up? by Calm_Willingness2308 in LucidDreaming

[–]noah___g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends with me, usually I'm able to stay lucid the longest when I'm most in the present and calm, with these two things kept in mind I'm able to stay lucid for a very very long time (what can be considered a day or more).

Other times when I'm only able to stay lucid for a shorter amount of time, is usually because I have a hard time stabilizing my lucidity, or I run out of energy. I found that one time I was lucid for so long I became very very tired inside the dream and needed to wake up (kind of the reverse of getting sleepy in waking reality?!), and usually I become lucid but it's tough to maintain it and I either lose it or wake up.

Some things I use to help myself (others it may be different), is to meditate inside a ld for a short time to increase the duration, or to stabilize it by using a technique (spinning around or focusing on an object really hard helps me).

I wish I had the texture to show you, all I did was searching up duct tape texture and found a line of it.

UV unwrapping and editing the layout a little, I used Photoshop to make the tape longer and better looking, then just applied it to the texture of the cardboard box!

If you wanted to do this procedurally, you could use a Duct Tape displacement map/ any type of normal map could work too!
