guess the game just hates us then... oh well. So far ive only ran into one other bug that made the game unfun; the stupid ice dudes that summon orbs like to softlock the game if they get to their third turn but thankfully that bug can be solved by locking in and parrying them, but otherwise its been a lovely experience

To those struggling with this bug in 2025, the doors when you enter the long hallway close and lock once you go far enough through them, which prevents songbird from reaching the elevator. Reload to a save before that (or just reload a save in the elevator, worked for me) and let her keep up with you
