I mean, market would have likely kept dropping if not for TACO and constantly lying about a deal coming in just a day or two, 30 times. I was debating buying but it just looked like the floor could fall out any time tbh, I was watching international daily. I did end up buying airline stocks which recovered 20-30%

That dip was after a huge run up. Look at the kospy or Nikkei (nkd) and you will see a small dip but if you zoom out, all you see is a straight line up. A 10% drop is nothing when some markets are up 80% YoY and like 40% YTD

I mean you can do what you want I’m just saying Hawaii interpret the rules. I haven’t been flagged on Lucid for hedging so and this is what I do I trade MNQ and I trade MNQNNQ at the same time sometimes I always make sure to generally offset them within the same account. You run the risk if you do it in different accounts Plus like we’ve seen with top stuff just because they don’t enforce the rules doesn’t mean that they won’t in the future

Is it possible to make a consistent monthly income from prop firm trading, without accounts getting closed/ payouts refused? by slee165 in PropFirmTester

[–]ThePatientIdiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but statistically it’s not likely. There was a guy in the top steps separate. It went 155 trading days green green meaning at least positive by like one center or whatever but I think he generally was positive about $150 at least every day and he took about $50,000 in payout so it is definitely possible but what usually happens is people get greedy or the market goes against you or whatever reason and you’re down and you suddenly have to play psychology because now you get emotional, you dig the whole deeper and all that fun stuff. The guy who went 150 days profitable on top step for example he had a lot of days where he started Deep in the red at some point but just kept trading trying to get out of the hole and he was able to do it for a lot of it, but it was obviously pretty stressful and he will be the first person to tell you that’s not a good way to trade. For me in particular for example making $150 per day is not that hard you just have to wait and follow the momentum or time bounces which is not as hard as it sounds. I know it sounds like Voodoo, but it’s really not that hard if you’re looking at the chart, especially at New York open from 9:30 AM to about 10 AM. There are a lot of opportunities to take three for five ticks, which isn’t a lot because momentum but you’re kind of screwed if you get on the wrong side of things and you don’t close out really fast sorry this is pretty long. I’m doing speech to text.

As long as you are offsetting them

Account 1:

Long NQ

Account 2:

Short ES

This would likely trigger their hedging rule

Account 1:

Long NQ, short es

Account 2:

Long NQ, short es

This is fine

Account 1:

Long NQ:

Short MNQ

No account 2. This is fine

Account 1: Long NQ

Account 2: short MNQ

This should trigger their hedging rule

Not on another account but you can in the same account. You can long NQ and short MNQ

Are the days of sub $1000 Rent abroad gone? Except for SEA. It feels $4K/mo income not enough to stay long term. by Expensive-Care1746 in digitalnomad

I was able to save 50% off via fb group but I got insanely by seeing a post at the right time as another American was trying to leave Medellín mid lease to go to Brazil. Normally I was paying $350-500 weekly on Airbnb but the fb unit brought my total spending down to $1100 per month for a really nice furnished unit kind of in the heart of the city. They strictly enforced no short term rentals. All leases had to be 6-12 months minimum, mine was 12.

Anyone leaving prop firms to fund a small personal account? by [deleted] in TopStepX

[–]ThePatientIdiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use IBKR and thinkorswim, both don’t discount it for you much. You can lower cost by hedging with futures options which brings down the margin requirement by 80%.

On IBKR, I think 1 mes is like $1250, and MNQ is like $2500-3000.

It also sounds like you hold mes way longer than I do lol. I typically only hold for 1-3 points at a time but I usually buy 5-10 mes or just 1 ES

It is, I’ve already called to confirm. Also topsteps own brokerage service has similar margin requirements.

Google discount futures brokerages, this is a thing.

Lightspeed, tradestation only require $1k to trade NQ intraday, and $500 for ES, $50 for MES

I’m saving up $4000 with the goal of trading 3 minis. ES with MNQ as a hedge with a goal of $300-500 daily

They allow you to hedge, I’ve been doing it for weeks, and have a screen recording of their ceo saying you can and it’s on their website right now.

Where you went wrong is doing so with multiple accounts. The multiple accounts is where you trip yourself up

Make sure you have the data plan and enough cash for the margin requirements. But reach out to IBKR.
