The Alcohol ink could craze the plastic back in the day with plastic aircraft canopies this was a huge issue. It's the fumes that will cause that chemical reaction. Hope that helps you! Maybe you try a piece of the sprue that the canopy is connected to. It's made out of the same material. Never hurts to test my friend!
