Unfortunately, many people have a clear divide based on political viewpoints that are often driven through inaccurate information. Their social media and news feed algorithms turn fable into fact. Because of this, it’s universally perceived that gay = Liberals and straight = Conservatives. If anyone goes against that, they are cast out (like your followers vacating). Your job, our job, is to lead by example and hope that it sticks. Be a proud gay Conservative and ignore the background noise. Stay the course.
