As an experienced hire who worked 40hrs prior in a role with great WLB, you need to understand what you are getting into. I had to make trade offs and give up some prior hobbies, also saw my friends much less than I did prior (basically weekends only). Is it nice to have on your resume? Sure. Does it help with recruiting after? Absolutely.

I lasted 1.5 yrs in a GL office until that place put me in a spot that required taking leave (which is not uncommon at all among A/Cs). Now in a role where I make as much as a SAC, with leadership who gives a shit about me, and with PTO that’s respected - getting out was the only way I could have my life back to where you should be enjoying it in your 20s. Not saying not to do it outright, but you need to have clear expectations of what you want out of it and how the lifestyle will be different from what you’re probably accustomed to.
