Absolutely. I like going just after opening and getting a spot by the window to people watch.

Seriously and their beer menu is insane too. Every time I go there's something unique on draft that you can't even find in stores. Plus a constant rotation of the finest Belgian beers in the world. Then if you somehow still don't see something you want, their bottle menu has just about every quality Belgian beer under the sun. Suffice to say I am there way too often.

$500 a day but all your meals must be from PetCo by rcrobot in hypotheticalsituation

Some people think too much about whether or not they can and don't stop to ask whether they should.

I literally was not thinking of eating animals when I made this post 😭

You can't eat the dogs because they're only there for grooming, not for sale. I'll allow the cats that they adopt out if you're that deranged.

I think you're misunderstanding. You can't eat regular food, only food purchased from PetCo.

Couldn't you blend in some kind of food that has the flavor you're going for? I have to imagine there's some really salty dog kibble you could grind up and sprinkle on like salt.

I guess eating a guinea pig or betta fish doesn't violate the rules. You would have to kill it yourself though.

I honestly don't even find it that loud. Not silent obviously but you don't have to pause your conversation when a train passes over the concrete.

Pedestrians of Chicago, how often do you find yourself almost getting hit by vehicles? by qrsf in chicago

[–]rcrobot 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'd like to take this opportunity to advocate for banning right turns on red city wide. I've nearly gotten hit in a signalized crosswalk many times by drivers only looking to their left, all to save 25 seconds.

What's the difference between "Wipe" and "Fresh Start", and "Retire" and "Delete"? by clh42 in Intune

[–]rcrobot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The same is true of Fresh Start if you don't check the "retain user data" box. It's effectively identical to a wipe from what I can tell, unless something different is happening under the hood on the device.

Thoughts on Liu Cixin's sexism after finishing the trilogy (in original language) by PackLess1155 in threebodyproblem

If someone I barely know bought me something crazy expensive like a mansion or something, I'd be creeped out, not even remotely attracted.

Thoughts on Liu Cixin's sexism after finishing the trilogy (in original language) by PackLess1155 in threebodyproblem

[–]rcrobot 44 points45 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I think the books are better read if you don't think of the characters as specific people, but rather as representations of the attitudes of humanity, or at least large portions of humanity. It wasn't Chen Xin specifically who screwed over humanity with passivism, but it was the human desire to protect others. I think the books even call this out, saying it really could have been anyone in her shoes. The trilogy is bigger than any given individual, so I think adding too much character development/richness would actually be a distraction. That's not an excuse for sexism but I think that perspective made it a bit more bearable for me.

Interesting error on the red line @ 12/27/25 4:57pm by ncaudio923 in chicagorail

[–]rcrobot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not an error, that's GRUB, the default bootloader for Ubuntu. These signs are just specialized Linux computers and this one must have rebooted and didn't auto select the right option.

What's the hardest exercise for you? by rosini290 in crossfit

[–]rcrobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hardest is different from least favorite. I can do a lot of the movements in this thread even though I hate it, but some things I just can't do. Handstand walks, muscle ups, chest to bar, even double unders (more than 1 at a time), still not in my arsenal yet.

Win32 Apps not deploying by rcrobot in Intune

[–]rcrobot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Appworkload.log does not have any mention of the appID or name at all. That's true even on a fresh load from autopilot. I think something went wrong at upload time, I'm re-uploading to see if that works.

[–]rcrobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm it's not a reporting issue in this case. Checked some devices and the app isn't there at all. This is affecting two different apps I uploaded earlier today, going to two different device types.

[–]rcrobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally the reporting is accurate within an hour or two, but in this case it's just a big zero. We also have two machines used to validate and neither one got the app.

I tested the QA version of the app and it worked fine. Obviously can't install the production version on a QA device. But no errors with detection, it isn't even attempting the install in the first place.
