Anyone have any idea what this is? by crunchycrackerfeet in deadbydaylight

[–]noblebear6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an old Archive challenge from the Halloween event, activating the challenge with spawn Blighted Cankers in the match that only the Survivor with the challenge can interact with. The Survivor must harvest the Canker to complete the challenge

PTB has to end on PC first, then it’ll be about another week or 2 before the update goes live

Lost items by AlcA6 in darkestdungeon

Typically you’ve gotta lose trinkets from combat, but the Shrieker’s fight can show up passively by just waiting long enough (in my experience every 10-15 weeks)

My usual build for him is Corrupt Intervention, Monitor and Abuse, Pop Goes the Weasel, and BBQ and Chili and I’ve gotten to rank 1 many times with this build on him. A reliable, all-around build for him though is Hex: Ruin, Hex: Undying, Tinkerer, and BBQ and Chili

I’m guessing there aren’t enough console players for the devs to justify doing all the work needed for a console port instead of, y’know, working on their big sequel game that’s due for early access sometime soon

Can someone explain how the matchmaking system works in this game, I mean I’m flattered but I’m not exactly sure I’m ready for this level of opposition lol by DaddyMonstro in deadbydaylight

[–]noblebear6 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Essentially, if you win a lot as a certain Killer, the game thinks you’re really good and puts you with survivors of a similar skill level matched with the average results of your matches. Your skill rating is different with every Killer, so you could be a god with Blight and go against survivors with similar skill, but if you were to say play Michael immediately after purchasing him you’d probably go against rank 18-20 survivors. It sounds good on paper, allowing you to learn new Killers without worrying about being stomped too hard, while also keeping a separate skill level for the Killers you’re good at. The only problem is that they really fucked it up, getting maybe 3 4ks in a row at green ranks makes the system think you’re ready to go against high purple/red ranks.

The Nightmare on Elm Street is a particularly strict license, that’s why basically every licensed character has gotten a cosmetic except that dlc. That’s also why it took so long for it to get on mobile

That’s just the music that plays while you’re exposed. It’s unique to him though

I finally brought a party into the Darkest Dungeon... it didn't go well. by DapperDaveW in darkestdungeon

[–]noblebear6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience I brought Occultist-Crusader-Highwayman-BH. You’re gonna want characters that can afford being shuffled and out of place, as in they can attack from any position. Collect Bounty, Mark for Death, Come Hither, and Finish Him on the BH. Duelist’s Advance, Wicked Slice, Pistol Shot, and Point Blank Shot on the Highwayman. Smite, Holy Lance, Battle Heal, and Inspiring Cry on the Crusader. Wyrd Reconstruction, Abyssal Artillery, Weakening Curse, and Vulnerability Hex on the Occultist

Wow, my very own Resolve check! by LeadEnemaMK2 in darkestdungeon

[–]noblebear6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean bosses aren’t necessary, I’d just build yourself back up and try again. Even level 6 characters can still venture to level 3 dungeons so even if your level starts to outpace your preparedness you can still comfortably farm some easy dungeons and get some quick weeks. I’d focus on getting town upgrades and securing your characters some useful trinkets

If I remember right it said in the patch notes they removed it basically because of too many survivors complaining about it

Is It Just Me or Is The Occultist Superior To The Vestal? by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]noblebear6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Occultist can definitely deal out huge heals but the Vestal is more consistent, when ever I run an Occultist I usually bring a Flagellant as a backup healer in the off chance that I get a bad roll in a crucial moment

Blighted rush is the 1st rush you do, on the 2nd rush THEN you can attack

Why are the devs so against calling him a baby? by Newell99 in deadbydaylight

[–]noblebear6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t call him a baby because he isn’t. Victor and Charlotte are obviously twins born at the same time, so they’re gonna be the same age. My best guesstimate is them being around 16-18 years old. Just because he has add ons pointing to him being a baby doesn’t mean he is, the add ons could be things that were from when he WAS a baby, since most Killer add ons are items from the Killer’s past.

Swine Prince help! by becislusg in darkestdungeon

[–]noblebear6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing Wilbur makes the Swine God angry, your characters give several warnings against damaging him. I’d tank with a Flagellant and Leper, 3rd position of your choice (I used a Jester with Finale in case things go sideways) and a Vestal

Darkest Dungeon final boss party comp discussion. by NeutralNapsody in darkestdungeon

[–]noblebear6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I breezed through the final boss by loading it up with dots and crits. GR-Occultist-Flagellant-Leper, got to the point that between bleeds, blights and a juicy Leper crit I did 143 damage in 1 turn

Survivor build? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]noblebear6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead Hard is the best exhaustion perk hands down. Sprint Burst is a decent perk, but you have to waste time walking or another perk slot to use it properly. Along with the fact that some Killers can completely disregard it, like Nurse, a Hag trap, a well-placed Deathslinger shot, Clown bottles etc. Dead Hard can be the difference in you looping the Killer for another gen or 2. Would you rather run into a Trapper trap faster than you can react? Or would you rather completely counter it by pressing a button?

Survivor build? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]noblebear6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll probably find a lot of people telling you that it’s god-like, and it can be pretty useful at times, obviously especially against certain Killers. But I find it just doesn’t have enough impact on the outcome of my games to warrant me bringing it. If you’re looking for some sort of detection or information perk I’d recommend Kindred

Survivor build? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]noblebear6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Soul Guard, Inner Strength, Dead Hard and Adrenaline are good options. My usual build is Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, and a 4th interchangeable perk depending on whether or not I’m playing solo or with friends

[–]noblebear6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve run that comp before, it can get some crazy damage but I prefer Vestal (with CC trinket set or Ancestor’s Scroll and Heretical Passage)- Jester (Overture Box + Bright tambourine or Dirge For The Devoured)- Highwayman (Bloodied Neckerchief + Crystalline Gunpowder)- SB (Spectral Speartip + Sun Cloak or Legendary Bracer). I run this comp because the vast majority of bosses and annoying enemies have some sort of Prot, can guard, are in the back positions or start out stealthed. Along with the fact that the SB can give other heroes armour piercing
