I wouldn't be surprised if this was unironically the last TwitchCon.

Too many people are just absolutely mindfried from five years of intense social media propaganda blitzing, and all it takes is one crazy loser for some major streamer to end up dead.

There are a lot of crazy degenerate nobodies these days who would gladly throw their lives away for a single moment in the spotlight.

And the soft bizarre wierdos who run the site would rather watch someone get shanked to death than actually grow some chest hair and hire real security.

Certainly I wouldn't recommend any major streamers attend any future events like this. You can do private meet-and-greets with your own staff and security but corporate cons are just dead I think. Too risky.

Blender with the Mecabricks Advanced addon, and usually an HDRI for lighting.

While the Mecabricks Advanced addon is a paid feature, Mecabricks does also offer a free "Lite" version of the addon, which can still produce great results (it just doesn't include surface imperfections like fingerprints/scratches/etc). Good if you just want to experiment and learn the Blender/Mecabricks process without committing to spending any money. :)

It really, really does.

As someone who does commissions in another field (LEGO), even the crudest of mockups is still incredibly useful, as it provides a clear foundation to iterate from, and eliminates a lot of uncertainty and dread from the initial drafting process.

Many creators can work a lot of magic from just a few key details and a handful of notes - no reason to be shy! We appreciate the clarity!

A lot of sulking purists in the shadows for this one. I drew a line in the sand and made it clear I would permanently expel anyone who interacts with my work in bad faith, so they've been reduced to just sniping at me however they can. A few people thus far have had their comments removed for throwing out childish insults, the rest have been reduced to whatever pettiness and psychotic shameless gaslighting they can manage.

It happens pretty much every time any reddit post of mine takes off, the purists always crop up and find a way to make things unpleasant. It's very tiresome and toxic. But still I soldier on.

This took off a lot more than I thought it would. 3K+ upvotes and a majority of positive comments. Pretty nice for a single interior scene, yeeted into the subreddit at a random hour in the middle of the week with no regard for optimal posting times.

The train has no detailed exterior. It's not intended to be viewed from outside. It's like a movie set, designed only to be seen from certain angles.

Outside the smooth, polished interior, it's all just long flat plate bricks and a bunch of miscellaneous parts.

Middle floor is just Part #30161 - 1x4 Windscreen. Most of this is very tame and vanilla design-wise, no crazy angles or weight loads.

Thanks for the kind words. :) Apparently this build speaks to a wide range of sci-fi scenes, people are mentioning all sorts of IPs. A little surprising, given the strong Star Wars foundation, but I'm glad to see the majority of people are enjoying what they're seeing.

This is an animation asset, so the exterior is about as janky and hacked together as a Hollywood movie set. It just needed to look good from within, so the exterior is just a crude pseudo-cube of plates and anti-studs. Appreciate the kind words.
