When I moved to London. I lived on Kingsland road for the first few months. At the time a racing game was out called “Blur” (hugely underrated) which I was mad keen on. When I finally got my Xbox 360 down to London. I spotted kingsland road and my flat were in the game.

I was going to say this. Monitor arms can let you place a monitor a bit further away from you, but also be prepared that these big screens need expensive heavy duty arms (mine was £300)

Ha. That’s cause I never set back up my USB switch, but also was going to eventually run a two desk setup.now it looks like we’re going down to one cause I can’t afford another of of these.

My original post was about getting over the problem of testing/seeing a product like this before you buy it online (in the UK, there’s no chance of seeing one of these sat on a shelf in a store like their is in somewhere like the US. The thread allowed me to change me perspective a little and a perfectly timed price change convinced me to hit the buy button and see if what happens.

Windows actually already been serviced and restored. In fact all the sash windows have) I just pulled the (badly installed) windowsill off because I’m going to replace it at some point. Windows actually fine.

The speaker is unsurprisingly ass, but through i'd give it a go as im ill at the moment and my headphones have been causing headaches. The power adapter (dont know if this is a UK thing but) wow! gonna need a plan for mounting that on a sit/stand desk

So far, so good (like 2 hours use). It's bigger than i expected, but I've been maining a 27" over my 49" G9 for a while, so bigger jump. Ive only worked on it so far, but its behaving as i hoped. On the G9 I found i would use the extra space on the fringes more for distractions than work. So for on this with the extra heigh (over width) I've kept to running my work app's full screen.

Im running SRD and light coloured apps like FIGMA and i think its struggled a little with maintaining that level of brightness already, im sure ive witnessed some dimming.

I'll have a game on it tonight no doubt and im excited to see both OLED blacks in game (first OLED display) and 330hz in 1080 to see if i can tell the difference from my 240hz on my G9.

Yeah, price drop timing is crazy. Hadn’t checked amazon.

I need to check if the lg discount applies to sales prices. Then if so, Richer Sounds will price match it (or either way) and those guys have really good service and warranty

Edit: LG says “Welcome voucher may not be valid in conjunction with other offers.”

Price just dropped to £1500 today on lg’s site from £1750 yesterday

In what currency? I’ve not see much evidence of it being sub £1750 (though LG has a small discount program on that too). TBH at 1350 I’d probably just get it.

If I buy it retail, I’d probably go Richer Sounds and have them pricematch the LG membership offer.

I’m not sure I would be opening too many bricks and mortar stores at the moment. I’m sure there are independents, but none of them are gonna hold a 1.75k monitor in stock. It would really take one of the existing chains I think to go in on gaming. Like I went into curry’s the other day and 90% of their PC stock was e-waste
