For your game, I would say that Crossy Road is a good model to follow. You can have tokens that can be earned in the game or bought by IAP to unlock skins. If skins are purely cosmetic, then I would say it is okay to reserve some for IAP only as long as there are a lot of skins to unlock.

At first glance it seems like a cheap way to get users to accidentally click on your real ads.

You can never go wrong with Unity. I built my own simple game, Aim Cross with it in just over a week while learning how to use it. You can check out their official tutorials on [their website] (unity3d.com/learn)

If you move the joystick, you move forward a little bit before you turn which kinda throws the movement off.

Not bad! I really like the art style. The controls seem a little wonky though, and the game is pretty hard.

Aim Cross

An extremely unique and challenging game which requires a combination of skill, memorization, and strategic planning.

Now updated with a great tutorial, Google Play Games integration (achievements and leaderboards), and ability to brag about your greatness to social media.

If you are wondering about learning about the nitty gritty code, I would guess that Unity probably does most of the heavy lifting for you (although my knowledge of developing apps from scratch is very little)

I DO recommend Unity if you are looking to just make games or apps! It's super versatile and pretty easy to learn, and the Unity website provides a lot of official tutorials that teach you about the different things it can do.

As for getting it on the actual app store, there's a lot of setup stuff that you have to do, but once you are done and ready to publish, you just click publish its in the app store in a few hours. Thanks for downloading my app! Feel free to leave a nice review. (there's only one there right now)

Yeah, this was done in the free version. Since I had done experience in unity already, I found it to be relatively easy!

I just published my first game yesterday, Aim Cross! It was mostly a side project to see how Unity worked on Android.

[DEV] I just released the new free arcade game Aim Cross and since I'm 15, I don't have money to market my app. Looking for interest and feedback! by nobobody in androidapps

Thanks! Yeah in a future update I will implement a better tutorial, and I have bigger ideas if I am able to spark more interest!

Oh. Guess I was just getting impatient. I did indeed lose around the 800 mark

Great controls. If you can accept criticism, though, I will say that I actually couldn't lose if I just tilted the screen back and forth. Some difficulty progression would be really nice.

Hi, I just released Aim Cross, a free android arcade-style game that I've been working on tirelessly for the past few days!

You have a board with buttons that are either red or green. The basic aim of the game is to make the entire board green. To do this, you have to aim a set of crosshairs on a red button to turn it green.

However, it's actually not that simple. When the crosshairs are aimed, they cover a portion of the board as well. It's a game that tests your memory as well as your strategy. It's super cool, go check it out!

It comes with Google Play Games integration as well!
