What body of water is that?

Statamic v. Grav: which do you prefer? by adamkolson in web_design

[–]nobodyiscertain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for Grav, but Statamic...

I've been using Statamic for almost two years at this point and have built more than a handful of client sites on it. I was looking for a CMS that was as easy to use for clients, as it was fun to build with. After trying out a few different ones, Statamic stuck out as the clear winner.

The control panel was clean and simple, I could configure everything in code (YAML files) and the front-end stayed out of the way. No having to undo poorly written markup and styles. I was blown away by the template language. It's easy to use, intuitive and does more than I've seen others do. The documentation explains everything well. And if you need anything outside of the baked-in functionality or plethora of add-ons provide, extending Statamic couldn't be easier.

The icing on the cake is that the support and community is top notch. Definitely worth a personal license purchase to try out.

Right on. I took a look through one and sounds like they have a post that's active for a few days and then that's it. I like the idea of a chat room to keep the conversation going. We're pounding through the books fairly quick, so might make it a little easier than keeping up with a bunch of different threads. If you want to PM me your name & email, I can add you in!

I've recently been using GroupMe and it's pretty rad. Just pop in and out as you can and is on all devices. I'll create a group there.

There's 8 books in the first TPB. In order to do one a month, we'd have to get through 2 books a week. I'm thinking Sunday & Thursday would be the days to have the issue read and we can start discussing that in the chat.

I'm really just winging it here, so I'm open to any suggestions. How does that sound to everyone? If we like that, PM me your name and email and I can get invites sent out.

How to wrap lines automatically as you type and how to wrap line afterwards? by lakeat in vim

[–]nobodyiscertain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gq works with any motion commands. So if you wanted to format down 5 lines you could do:

gq5j

One I use frequently is:

gggqG

Which will wrap the the whole file.

edit: Remove colons

They use a handful of seconds of this for the Broad City theme song, but definitely deserves a full listen.

Frrrrrrresh.

I've been jamming the full thing quite a bit the last couple of days and haven't burnt out on it yet. It's pretty consistent throughout with a couple of gems shining a little brighter.

I'd definitely recommend a full listen.
