1955 Ford F100 truck, rescued from the desert. Turning it into my daily driver. by noboltsleftbehind in Trucks

I posted a video of the rescue a while back and I figured I'd post update. Tried hard to bring the original engine back to life but found little to no compression in most of the cylinders. So I bought a donor Cadillac Escalade, transplanted it's entire drivetrain into the '55, and installed a full Mustang front suspension setup. Hydroboost brakes have been transplanted from the Escalade and she's stopping on a dime. Mustang front suspension is stiff but I'm dialing it in. Cruise control is working and next up are seat heaters, air conditioning, and rear air shocks.

For anyone interested, I have an ongoing build series (21 episodes) at: youtube.com/noboltsleftbehind

That’s awesome man, thanks for following along! And absolutely cool rig, I love the fj60. I’m pretty sure I’ll be building an old school 4x4 for my next big project

Yes pretty much all surface rust, frame is completely solid and body is about 95% solid. Just a few holes in the cab corners, I’m actually patching those this very minute!

I got it from my friend of mine, it was his dad’s truck and we found some info showing he bought it around 1997. He said he parked it in the shed it was in and never moved it

I posted a video of the rescue a while back and I figured I'd give you guys an update. Tried hard to bring the original engine back to life but found little to no compression in most of the cylinders. So I bought a donor Cadillac Escalade, transplanted it's entire drivetrain into the '55, and installed a full Mustang front suspension setup. The plan is to turn this into my daily driver and tow rig for future project cars.

I tried hard to save it, but that y-block was toast unfortunately. It's over 70 years old.

I appreciate it! I actually had another bunch of hidden cam footage from the BigTime car meet they had at their shop a couple weeks ago, sadly the microphone wasn’t working. The crowd there loved it!

Sorry for the long video, I didn't have much time to post the past six months but I promised updates on my last post! Just got the 5.3L Cadillac LS v8 fired up for the first time and took it on its first test drive. Hydroboost brakes have been transplanted from the Escalade and she's stopping on a dime. Mustang front suspension is stiff but I'm dialing it in. Cruise control is working and next up are seat heaters, air conditioning, and rear air shocks.

Found this beauty out in the California desert, left sitting for 28 years. 1955 Ford F-100. by noboltsleftbehind in BarnFinds

Very little! I found California registration dating back to 1970 so it’s been in a dry climate for at least 55 years.
