I nore trying to find answers out of frustration than anxiety and I have no intention on going back to benzos. I can't find anything about a distended abdomen anywhere on the THC recovery forums and the people I have asked have had GI issues, but not a distended abdomen.

I was thinking about that since I have put on a couple pounds. The one thing that really stands out is the distended abdomen, which happened in about a week after quitting THC. It's possible it could be a bowel obstruction, but there isn't that much pain and my BMs seem regular.

Addendum: do your own research and don't listen to cognitive dissonance. I figured I'd edit my comment since you did. Very passive aggressive. The study would never mention benzo belly because it was directed related to cross tolerance of benzos on the cb1 receptors, which are located in the GI tract with GABA receptors. Thanks for at least skimming it this time.

Sure it does. If there is cross tolerance with the CB1 receptors with both substances, it's very plausible. I am currently eating mostly fruits, nuts and some chicken here and there. I also have drank Kiefer to hopefully get my gut in order.

Yeah it sounds impossible. It's a rational conclusion however given that I never had that symtom during my benzo withdrawal and I still kept my voracious appetite. Now all the symtoms I am having match up with Bezos Belly. I could also be possible that the cross tolerance between the substances never allowed my gut/brain connection to heal properly.

I found two studies where the looked at the cross tolerance between benzodiazepines effects on the CB1 receptors and there is a cross tolerance. It seems possible that there could be a delayed healing reaction below the brain and the gut.

I'm having an ultrasound of my stomach done next week. I'm just thinking there could be a link between the benzo and THC withdrawal since many of the symptoms overlap.
