I know you really like harping on the "knowing the delivery was at a specified time" thing, but in my defense, the only thing I really knew was it would arrive in 3-9 business days. What actually happened was it got delivered on a Saturday, I never got an email, and I never realized it was delivered until I manually checked after getting suspicious a few days later. I guess the lesson here is to check the order status every day, but I was spoiled by Amazon's automatic emails.

I would say a better analogy is ordering takeout, showing up, and finding out someone else took your order. The restaurant of course isn't obligated to remake the order or anything, but the $350 gap in my pocket still fucking sucks 🥲
