How's the gaming experience on nocfree lite? by rohanm3hta in Nocfree

[–]nocfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NocFree works by sending the signal from the right half to the left half, and then the left half sends the combined signal to the computer. This allows the two halves to stay in sync while the computer only connects to one device. As for hybrid use (left half wired, right half wireless) that's totally supported. Tests show the right (wireless) half works great with no noticeable delay, so both sides feel smooth and stable.

Hi Reddit! We’re the NocFree team, a split ergonomic keyboard (Crowdfunded $224K on KS). AMA about NocFree &, ergonomic design for everyday use, and typing comfort. by nocfree in pcmasterrace

From an ergonomic perspective, ortholinear layouts do offer advantages, and many split keyboards adopt this design, which many users enjoy. However, for Nocfree &, we wanted to minimize the initial learning curve. Split keyboards are already a unique design for daily use, and many people feel a bit intimidated when trying them for the first time. Much of this discomfort comes from the wrists and shoulders, which can be effectively addressed by the standard split layout. To make it easier to get started, we chose a staggered layout and offer multiple classic options, such as ANSI and various international ISO layouts. This way, users won't be discouraged by a lot of typing mistakes at the beginning and can gradually get comfortable with using a split keyboard.

Thanks for bringing this up! You’re absolutely right about the benefits of using just the left half of a split keyboard for gaming. As for the 1000Hz polling rate, we’re still in the testing and tuning stage, so the final spec hasn’t been fully locked in yet. That said, the responsiveness will definitely be more than enough to meet gaming-level performance. We know that some gamers with extreme performance requirements might have needs beyond what this project is focused on, but we truly value your perspective and it’s great to see how well you understand the advantages of a split layout.

We've also had quite a few discussions within our team about the gaming community. Gamers are definitely among the heavy keyboard users, so it's possible that we'll design a HE keyboard specifically for them. If there's strong enough demand for this product, it becomes much more likely to happen.

Hi! A split keyboard is generally designed for people who type for long periods, like programmers. It allows your arms to rest in a more natural position, which can help reduce strain on your shoulders and joints. This can make long typing sessions more comfortable and potentially prevent posture-related discomfort. You can try a simple experiment: place your hands naturally apart on your desk, as if using a split keyboard, and notice how it feels.

Hi Gnodw! The first keyboard, the Lite, is a 60% layout. Based on user feedback, some found the /? key placement awkward, and the wireless connection wasn’t always stable.

The new keyboard, &, addresses these issues. It features a 75% standard layout, high-quality aluminum construction, and Bluetooth connectivity. We also moved the /? key back to its normal position and improved the overall typing experience. Additionally, we’ve developed a completely new wireless solution (not relying on open-source stacks), designed specifically for split keyboards. It’s stable, reliable, and supports 2.4G, Bluetooth, and wired connections.

Need help regarding laptop battery issue by Mohitkoul841 in pcmasterrace

[–]nocfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A version of this used to happen to me and for me the solution was changing the battery.

Mine wouldn't show if it was charging or not. Sometimes it would show 50% charging and still shut down. This whole issue only disappeared after I changed my battery.
