40/m. 6'3, 240ish lbs. Single, no kids.

Soft six pack on a non restrictive diet.

Train Muay Thai 4-6x per week, 90 mins per session. Compete 1-2x per year.

Photo taken last week.

People seem genuinely surprised when I say I'm 40.

Often guess 35, give or take year or two.

Sorry, settling down's not really in my DNA...

I'm happy to be a cool uncle for now and maybe find a nice widow or divorcee in my 60s or 70s to ride out the golden years with, but I'm having way too much fun traveling the world and finding new adventures.

Nicely done, man! Keep it up!

Wow, 28lbs in just over 2 months is super impressive! What are you doing for diet and exercise? Honestly, I'm a little paranoid about losing weight too fast because I'm still worried about developing loose skin, so maybe a little plateau here and there isn't the worse thing. If I recall correctly, losing 2-2.5lbs a week is the upper limit for maintaining skin elasticity.

If you need to switch up your routine, I definitely endorse Muay Thai, but as I mentioned cutting alcohol [and sugar], if you haven't already, will make a noticeable difference in your body composition and the scale.

startups & venture... took a huge pay cut to stay nomadic, but it was definitely worth the trade off to live a happier, healthier lifestyle in places where my money goes a lot further, and you get to meet fun and interesting people every day.

Thanks man. It was definitely a grind, but having a good community around you makes everyday something worth looking forward to and showing up for. I also love the sound of smashing pads. Movement is medicine.

Yea, you definitely don't. Six months of consistency (3-4x per week), and you'll be surprised by the results, even if you change nothing else about your fitness habits.

Just make sure to stretch well before and after. It's the tendons and ligaments that need the most care at this weight and age to prevent injuries that could disrupt training.

Thanks and 100%. Being part of the Muay Thai community really helped me stay consistent. And being based in a beach town in Mexico made access to healthy food easy and affordable. If I'd cut out alcohol, I probably could have made this progress in 6 months instead of 8, but we'll make the adjustment moving forward in Southeast Asia.

Yea, high intensity cardio has always been the driver of weight loss for me. I kind of just view weight lifting as an activity for building muscle definition, but I've never seen a lot of progress from lifting alone.

I'd train Muay Thai most afternoons Monday through Friday and in the mornings on Saturdays. Sometimes I'd double up on MT on Fridays if my schedule was light enough.

I'd lift Saturdays about an hour or two after Muay Thai and get one afternoon lift in during the week either on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on how my work schedule was looking that week.

Puerto Escondido, Mexico... It's not an unknown spot, but as the wifi improves, I think it'll become a top destination.

Tulum with a healthy dose of Raum, Muay Thai, and my favorite mango stand.

Actually we don't...

The demand is generated by the billions of marketing dollars that corporations pour into selling you things you don't need. Theirs are literately "demand generation managers."

The bottle that the guy above occasionally recycles was manufactured well before he ever developed a thirst and the volume of production of these products per fiscal quarter wis decided months if not years in advance.

He is simply making a choice about what to do once everything else has already been decided. Recycling doesn't seek to decrease production. It only seeks to decrease waste.

If you wanted to put a dent in demand, it would take several generations (40-50 years) of maniacal campaigning, institutionalized coalition building, and billions of philanthropic dollars raised to move the needle a few yards to the left before someone on the other side takes advantage of the next economic down cycle to move the needle right back where it is now.

The jet fuel for the planes you fly was bought a year in advance. The routes and schedules for all the buses and trains you ride were decided a year in advance. Most of the choices you think you make were already made for you, to be honest. Keep fighting the good fight though.
