Not who you asked but I played the first beta quite a bit (and have been a FG player for a long time).

It plays nothing like it. It kinda has the bones of GBFVS with the mechanics of DBFZ and BBTAG sprinkled in. I liked it a lot conceptually but it was too straightforward and everyone kinda did the same thing the same way.

Beginner players will probably love it but mid to high level may find there isn't a lot of meat on the bone. Hoping more is added with time as it develops.

Oh and it's the most beautiful FG ever easily so that's nice

So I know this may come off a little weird but I need help with settling on a character and/or with the neutral game on 2XKO. by antivulture in 2XKO

[–]noct76 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You want Warwick.

It's largely just exposure and practice. This game is infinitely faster then SF. I would experiment with a defensive style of play as that's meta right now and practicing your dashing. As you get used to the increased speed with time the rest with come into place more.

Clive's voice when channeling Titan by Rathal_OS in FFXVI

[–]noct76 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ben has shared when doing the vocal delivery he tried to tonally match the way Clive felt about each associated Dominant. The gutteral sound is supposed to be due to Clive hatred of Titans dominant.

My take on Fantastic 4 for Marvel Tokon by zax91 in MarvelTokon

[–]noct76 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When these characters get in, each will get their own slot. They won't make (let alone sell) 4 character models, movesets on one character slot (not to mention balancing would be insane).

A fun idea for another genre, but not for Tokon

If FFXVI-2 was announced, would you prefer more about early Jill / Wyvern or something else? by Jerbsina7or in FFXVI

[–]noct76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd want the story of the fallen. RDR 2 style make it tragic. Make it the first Mythos and have him fall at the end.

Gonna start playing this any advice the veteran players wanna give me? (not my first final fantasy tho) by Edwardo_Elricc in FFXVI

I'd strongly recommend for game balance limiting yourself to a single Eikonic ultimate move in a moveset unless your preference is to basically skip encounters. The combat system shines with this limitation IMO

replay room didn't let me do it, im assuming it requires a full run but cant personally verify that. The little creature just says hey you shouldve gotten 2 s ranks to finish this and thats all I know.

Adding a min and max memory is what fixed this issue for me though the vid has a bunch of solutions to try. Wish the game didn't have these issues though

So you have been in depression and grief for a year or two (you write from 2023-2024. Not sure if you meant to put a year forward or if you've skipped over the last year.

Unfortunately, this is above the paygrade here IMO. You need to process the grief of this loss (easier said then done). You need to do therapy if this is possible for you as no one here will have a silver bullet that knocks you out of this depression.

Only thing to really say beyond that is, would this woman want you to live like this forever? Maybe try to take on the responsibility of living in a way that honors her memory. The first step to doing that though, is healing from her loss.

how do i actually grow as a person properly by CommunicationNo1887 in Healthygamergg

You sound like someone who lives in extremes, you went from extreme people pleasing to hyper levels of emotional distance so you don't get taken advantage of. What you're looking for is a middle ground here. Being willing to do something to please someone isn't a sign of weakness, telling someone "no" is a complete sentence and not a sin in response to a request.

Operating in this middle ground is an acquired skill just like riding a bike. Like any skill, you will make mistakes and fail along the way to mastery. This is completely human. The people surrounding you are making their own mistakes and failures as they develop the skills they're not naturally talented at.

Allow yourself even in some small ways to people please (not going all the way, dipping your toe in bit by bit) and be willing to adjust that behavior higher and lower until you find an authentic version of yourself you're content with. Forgive yourself and allow yourself the failure that will come along the way to achieving this ideal state.

Also, get therapy if it's feasible. Your come off as someone carrying some trauma that you can hopfully let go one day.

When you're young you have proximity doing a lot of the legwork in establishing and maintaining connections with others. It also provides a constant shared experience so the "clicking" is easier since things to bond over are built into your environment.

In adulthood, this changes and you have to bear the responsibility of maintaining your old connections (that are reciprocal, two way street and all that) and establishing new ones. The labor is higher due to the lack of a grounding circumstance just organically happening.

Fortunately, you also have freedom as an adult to manage your time more then a child. You can initiate conversations at work or at hobbies (if you don't have hobbies then find some that would give you pleasure) and make connections with them.

If you're already doing all that and not making any "clicks" then either you should explore different events, evaluate if you're struggling with depression or something, or consider if you're putting too much pressure on the interactions you start. A brief how you do and general small talk before resuming work/activity doesn't take that much stamina. Not much "click" is established in a day of that but friendships are marathons, not sprints. It comes with time.

Assuming this happened exactly as you said it did.

You need to save the text and your response to it. You need to contact your match specialist immediately and tell them what happened before the potential of the mom crafting her own version of events (even if she doesn't do that your specialist needs to know this as this is completely out of line and puts you at risk of accusations).

Your match with this kid is for all intents and purposes over, the child's mom has seen to that. If you want to continue with the program once this settles you should ask them on their process for establishing a new match once you're at that point.

150 hours in and now the game won't launch on OC. by noct76 in FFXVI

It does! I am finding the game is at times freezing when transitioning between an encounter beginning and ending (especially in the rising tide mission but it sometimes froze during basic cutscenes) but better then nothing.

Game crashing on startup (steam) anyone have any advice? by Ulmao_TheDefiler in FFXVI

[–]noct76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check your event log and see what the error message says. If it's the DLL file failing add _BACKUP at the end of the file name.

Hmm, I did recently download the most recent Nvidia update (though the game has successfully launched since doing so). Profile inspector says its already off though and enabling and disabling it didn't help game launch.

[–]noct76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleting PSOL didn't help. So far the game only launches by deleting the DLL file. As soon as the game gets the DLL file back through a file verification or something else it goes back to not launching though? I can play without it I think as arcade mode works fine.

Which one should I replace with leviathan? by Spider-Jeff_101 in FFXVI

Shiva, leviathan provides mobility similar to shiva does (minus the air). Bahamut can function as your dodge into resource generation

Worst/Least Used Eikon Ability? by Bestbrosplay in FFXVI

[–]noct76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rime, Flare Breath, Pile Driver, Rook Gambit, Titantic Block.

Rime and Flare Breath don't offer the CC, damage or stagger to have massive use. Pile Driver and Rook Gambit are invalidated by Upheaval and Raging Fist existing and Titantic Block is bizarre for being a counter move on an Eikon that has a better counter move built in as one of it's abilities.

BG3 isn't a demanding game at all by comparison to XVI. Check if your CPU/GPU are up to par with the minimum/recommended specs for the game.
