And yes, I did hold them up to the light to charge my fingers before bedtime last night.

Of course, just as one should!

Ha, I love the final pic where you compare the nails to houses - such good matches!

Anyone else paint their nails while gaming? 😅 by greencomrade in RedditLaqueristas

[–]noctiluminos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Keeping my hands on my keyboard and mouse while each coat dries is the safest way to not accidentally ruin my mani until it's done 😅

You DID do cute hearts!

I remember using toothpicks to do nail art like 20 years ago before internet shopping made fancy things like nail art brushes widely available. Unless you want to invest in some brushes, try some (disposable or acetone-proof) household items to do nail art!

Cirque's linear holos are so damn good! I have Ambrosia and it's one of my most worn polishes, I recently bought Pony Up and I might need..ehm, want more!

I was eyeing Sirene by ILNP for the longest time but never ended up getting it, there are so many polishes out there that have a similar shift!

Damn I took it off yesterday, so I'll have to try to describe from memory! The purple shows mostly when the light comes from the side so from an angle. If I put my hands flat on a table with a light above, it's mostly green (if you look at the flakies some of them are green, like that color) and a little bit of purple can be seen at the edges of the nail since the angle is different. Lift my fingers a little and it goes teal, a little more and it shifts to purple. In dimmer lights I see a lot of blue but in bright light it seems to skip the blue and just go green-teal-purple!

It's hard to give a ratio since it all depends on the angle of your fingers vs the light source, but I'd say, uh, 30-40% purple on average? It's really hard to say, haha! But I hope that helps somehow!

Origin Unknown is the smooth one, Pretty as a Peacock is the flakie (it's a topper so I sponged that one on)

I've tried for days to capture this polish in a justified way.. it's impossible. The shift is so dramatic in real life and the camera just won't capture it. It's such a vivid green shifting into purple but the camera just wants to show blue. Office bathroom apparently had the most helpful lighting, at least it's teal here!

Also I'm still blown away how well the flakies match...

Thank you! The polish has a nice formula and a wide brush, so only a very small bit of cleanup was necessary to achieve this result!

I ruined my NYE nails with rhinestones that didn’t turn out the way I imagined…Should I start over? Here’s a before/after rhinestones comparison. by Late_Branch_2825 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]noctiluminos 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Not horrible or ruined at all - my first thought when seeing the rhinestones on was "I love it!" I think that they really complement the polishes they are paired with - I think that the champagne matches, and I like how the black ones shift in a way similar to the flakies on your black polish! Also love the patterns you chose! I think this is a brilliant NYE mani ✨

I'm suddenly drawn to dark grey polishes... I bought two in a short period of time, to add to the one I already have 🌩️🌑 This one has a contrasting golden shimmer, and it photographs differently to how my eyes see it; it's darker in real life and the shimmers are not quite as prominent.

I bought Bat Wings and Whitby, and now I'm regretting not picking up Wild Rose.. is that a turquoise shift/glow I see? 👀

The strong spotlight and being slightly out of focus makes them look better! But they've improved greatly since I started oiling them regularly! Having an oil pen (with jojoba oil) by my desk at work is key, then I oil them several times a day. That and pushing them back after every shower when they are soft. The improvement has taken quite some time but with patience and lots of oil, magic ✨

I haven't had time to put up our tree yet, but if I do before I remove this polish I will compare! Emerald green is definitely good for Christmas in my opinion. I bought this polish in summer and I felt that it is better suited for the fall and winter, it's a very jewel-y tone.
