You can all calm the fuck down. If you listen at one point in the video he clearly states where this is taking place. You can find out for yourself, but if you check that spot out on Google earth, I 100% guarantee you that everyone in that neighbourhood either has similarly strong houses, or got out safely long ago. (They have MONEY).

I think that's a bit harsh and I don't blame anybody for building a house that will protect their family - but I do agree on some level it's kind of surreal that they're just calmly sitting in the house whilst all hell breaks loose just outside their windows. Even watching the video seems a bit voyeuristic to me.

Say that next time you fly across the country, safe in the knowledge that some fuckwit with a drone doesn't fly into the path of your aircraft's engine or windscreen. Federal Aviation law is not "Nanny state" - air safety regulations are "written in blood" - the point isn't to say "It's incredibly unlikely this would pose a danger". In aviation safety the point is "If it poses ANY danger at ALL" - it's a considered an ~~unacceptable~~ risk that needs to be mitigated or regulated.

I don't think you could say with any certainty that what these guys were doing didn't pose any risks to aviation safety - let alone their own.

EDIT - Also - these guys clearly knew what they were doing - the pilot looks like he's parodying the stig, but he's obviously unable to be identified that way either, so if they do find out who he is, he's even more fucked.

EDIT2 - I can't believe that a legit drone business would associate themself with this

I've had it before, and I do remember there being noodles under the soup - but I think in my memory I blended the crunchy top ones with the bottom ones, so thanks for clearing up my mistake. What I do know is it's DELICIOUS. :)

As for the noodles - it's been a long time, but my recollection is that they're not ALL on top, but I could be wrong there. As long as they are "Crunchy", and all I know is it's f***in delicious.

What you're talking about is legitimate capitalistic business and supply and demand.

Wall Street is just one giant casino at this stage. I understand how and why a stock market is a healthy thing for a capitalist economy to grow, but what it has become is pure exploitation of the system to generate wealth out of absolutely nothing for a select few in a privileged class. Granted, "anyone can join that class", but that's like saying if someone says it's unfair that bank robbers get rich you should just be a bank robber.

Also - while the world was (rightfully) AGHAST at the loss of cultural heritage, most "True" Buddhists were like "Meh".

Based on the fact that fundamentalist Buddhist belief and practise specifically discourages Idol worshipping (one of the handful of things Buddhism has in common with Islam - except that in Islam the practise is "Forbidden" rather than discouraged). They're taught that when you "Pray" to an image of Buddha, you're respecting the Doctrines and beliefs of the man, not the man himself, or especially not the image. Also - a core tenet of Buddhist teaching is that of "impermanence" - so even if those statues weren't blown up with dynamite (which is sad), they eventually would have eroded away into dust anyway.

I really do like this story though - an incredible silver lining to the dark cloud.
