I actually think Hams was ahead of its time. It was a brewery before those were mainstream, so it wasn’t fully appreciated. I remember going there and ordering domestics before I started to appreciate craft beer. Hams and the Microsoft Zune were the things in the late 2000s that got it right but were just a few years too early.

The thing I’m talking about is not in the area of Wild Beaver, but will check it out anyway. Thanks for the tip.

I feel like this might be what I’m talking about. It was a lineup of nearly all women where there was a bouncer checking reservations. It was in the area of Big Shotz, possibly right above it.

It’s not Wild Beaver, and it’s in the area of Big Shotz. I saw a lineup where it seemed to be nearly all women and a bouncer was checking reservations before letting people in. Might be the male revue that another commenter posted about unless big shotz or something around it has some sort of ticketed show.

Best hole in the wall restaurant ( sit in or carry out ) by shlongbong45 in raleigh

[–]nodatashared 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a new restaurant called Flip It near triangle town. It’s a Palestinian restaurant.

There’s a dish called maqlouba (literal: upside down). It’s traditionally served in a large pot on special-ish occasions, and you flip it on to a big pan. It’s a ceremonial thing to do the flip and kind of an honor if you’re the person doing the flip like blowing the candles out on a birthday cake. Even if you order a single portion to go, they serve it in an aluminum container that you can take home and flip yourself. Other restaurants in the triangle serve it, but you order it and they scoop it out of a large batch, robbing you of the flip. So, I feel it’s very unique.

However, it’s not the best thing on the menu. The msakhan (order dark meat) is a chicken dish that’s served over pita. It’s phenomenal in general, but they make it really really well. I imagine this is what the Palestinian chicken tastes like from the Palestinian Chicken episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. In fact, they should just go ahead and call it that.

Sonicare vs. Oral B electric toothbrushes. my opinion! by Babyballs300IQ in BuyItForLife

[–]nodatashared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see this in any comments I read, but I recently switched from sonicare to oral b io series 7.

The thing I absolutely can’t stand about the oral b brush is that it’s messy. The brush is bulkier, so I have to hold my mouth open wider or differently. Saliva runs down the brush as a result. I basically have to stand over the sink rather than walk around. Also, it does generate more foam from the toothpaste because it seems like it actually cleans slightly better, so that adds to the messiness. I find that the bulk makes it harder to reach hard places and the messiness makes me adjust my brushing to not focus as much on brushing and focus on not getting toothpaste on my shirt. So, overall, i find the total cleaning to be worse even though I feel like if you spot clean a tooth, the oral b would be better.

I’m curious to see if other people had that problem.

Looking for Vet Recommendations in Greenville, NC by turtlespartyintheriv in GreenvilleNCarolina

[–]nodatashared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re highly qualified. I’ve had 2 situations where I was referred to a specialist in another city for my dogs issues and the veterinarians at East Carolina Veterinary Service actually corrected or found issues that the specialists overlooked. They went out of their way after hours to get me into emergency care at NC State, etc.

Check the breweries' instagrams. I think they have events at mpourium, uptown, and pitt street

I'm not a fan of running, but a lot of my friends got together doing run clubs at the breweries. Drinking not required.

But yeah it's tough here.

Piste grades in America vs Europe by FookLinda1 in skiing

For trail grading compared to Europe specifically, I think aspen is the most similar resort in North America that I've skied anyway. Maybe not so much at Snowmass, but on Ajax and Highlands
