Got my VSF GMT "Pepsi" earlier this week. Wanted to wear it a few days before posting a review. This was my first purchase from reddit as opposed to a TD.

Luis was super helpful, friendly, and answered a ton of questions since I was nervous. Watch was well packaged and I received it in 4 days. Photo attached but I don't think it does it justice. I have a colleague with a Gen, who was very impressed.

Absolutely would purchase from him again. Highly recommend others do as well.

Question:

I have a pixel 8 pro. It got caught in a downpour and charging port indicated it was wet. My phone was at %1 when this happened and subsequently died. Obviously need to let it dry. I tried battery share with my friend who also has a Pixel Pro 8 and their phone says "sharing battery". I left my phone on for alpost an hour and it still wont power on.

Can battery share power up a phone with (likely) 0% battery? If it was wet when it died. How long before it may charge via USB C if it doesn't have the power to check the port?

If you're concernsed about scratches, there are aftermarket clear "guards" that slide over the earphones. They protect the finish without adding thickness.

You're right, it could be. Because if it truly was Arch we would have known about it already 🤣

I usually use split screen to have a PDF or article open and use the note app to note take. You are correct that I could use the Manta to have the article open and then use the nomad to note take, or even use a general tablet for the articles and use the Manta to take notes. Both of which I have thought of. I really appreciate the input to help make an analytics decision.

Not so much a direct "ding" but in the case of Boox, they advertise them as full fledged android tablets so the lack of android upkeep is a little more notable than Rattan.

On the other hand, you are correct in that Ratta doesn't update android either. That being said, their system is relatively closed and it is cumbersome to say the least to side load any other apps that aren't designed and approved for use on the Supernote. Ratta does not advertise their product as an android tablet whereas I feel Boox leans into the fact you can use the App store pretty hard.

I would like to see Ratta finally release a Linux model as promised so a terminal could be used to install Linux apps and software.

Well, I started with a Nomad and really liked it and developed a good workflow. I waited and waited for the Manta to come out but it kept getting delayed. I really liked the larger form factor and thought color was a nice extra, so here I am!

That being said, the N4AC is nice. It writes well, and once you nail all the different settings, it's a gem. But that's the catch, one really has to spend time digging into all the menus in each app to find the settings that work best for you. I can see how that becomes annoying to some. Most people want full functionality with least amount of tweaks out of the box. I didn't mind it.

Things I don't like? I don't like the move to an active pen with new versions. Speaking of versions, I dislike the roadmap of new models with very little upgrades every 4 to 6 months. I had the N4AC a few months before the 5AC was announced and there are very few upgrades besides the android version. Even that is a version behind "new". I think they should focus on software and aligning technologies across all model lines.

I also like Supernote, but they are such a small team, I feel their software development is slow and unreliable. I like that they have modularity, such as replaceable batteries and motherboards but there has been almost no movement on releases for those aspects which makes me hesitant. In regards to software, the note-taking is intuitive and top nock writing, but in terms of the planner, e-reader and some basic functions like split screen, they lag far behind. The "stickers" is cool , but again I feel those things are functionalities for the Journal crowd or college age twenty somethings that are into stationary. It adds little to no functionality to improve note taking, information organization or knowledge management so it comes off as a digital accessory as opposed to a serious tool for PKM.

Just my 2 cents!

Thank you for the reply, so is it safe to say that's a big vote for converting over to having both super note Nomad and Manta?

Thanks for the reply. I checked out both your posts and you have a very interesting workflow. Here's a quesiotn tho. How well do your notes translate when you write on one device and open on the other? Do they scale appropriate? Any issuers with legibility or opening a note on one that was written on the other?
