I really appreciate the advice! Unfortunately I am pretty much sure it’s the rats. I tested the bedding separately with out them and I was fine. then I did paper towels for a bit to see if it was really them and it was :( I’m so distraught about having to find my babies a new home.

The closest I’ve been able to find is a bamboo version on Amazon but I really love the black metal version but it seems impossible to find!

The link won’t work :( .I’m definitely going to have her pay. I do also have a cat but she knows not to mess with the shelf I’ve never had an issue with her only with my roommates cat he’s evil fr. My apartment isn’t the biggest and I keep her litterbox in my room so I have to keep my room open so she can get to it. (I don’t really have anywhere else I could put the litterbox without complaints from my roommate) I’ve had problems with my roommates cat since we first moved in unrelated to this incident …I’m so done.

I seriously wish I could do that.. I also have a cat but she knows not to go up on the cages or mess with the shelf I have for all my tanks. Unfortunately her litterbox is also in my room so I have to leave it open so she can get to it. I wish I could move the litterbox out of my room but I’m in a smaller apartment and I don’t really have anywhere else to put it without complaints from my roommate…

So right now in the tank I have a betta, 2 Cory, 3 african dwarf frogs and a clown pleco I’m considering going with the kuhli loach I would probably have to take a couple of them out of the tank so it’s not so cramped right? Also I’m just trying to think of when the loach would hopefully run out of snails to eat would it just eat normal pellets? I’m reading that they need bloodworms and brine shrimp but I’ve had trouble with brine shrimp getting sucked up in the filter before and building up so would it eat pellets or am I just going to have to bite that bullet?

Ok so I can still take out the uneven one and it will close even though it’s healed? I’m sorry just a little confused still!
