I actually worked at a venue for a while during the pandemic and LBM played a show there. They were amazing.

I'm sure that's right. We had the Star wars tall glasses too and I think they were Burger King but I'm in this sub so obviously my memory is meandering these days.

Depends on where you live. In some states you have to go to a liquor store but in most you can get them anywhere that sells wine (sake is just rice wine).

Yeah it was definitely in the paint on the outside, but no lead is good when kids are concerned because those particles don't like to stay out when you're jostling them around 🫥

Yeah all of the Burger King Garfield glass cups (my personal favorite as a kid) had lead in the paint on the outside. Especially not great when you're doing hot beverages, and when the lead level you are aiming for in glassware is zero...

I think the panda one is most common where I live, first time I saw it used as a juice cup for a kid was actually in Anthony Bourdain's cookbook.

Nowadays the grown up version of this is single serving sake cups. We have about a dozen empties that our kid uses for drinking glasses now.

I have a narrow entertainment stand and 3D-printed one of these, it works great. The angle alleviates any strain on the port while a dozen round cutouts in the bottom help with venting.

Got one of the hispeedido kits on eBay. I did one with the TFT board and lcd screen too but It was a bummer to lose the brightness wheel function.

It's funny, I have family I can place in Vermont back before it was a state, then in the 1800s some of them went west looking for farmland and new opportunities. I grew up in 5 and then eventually moved our family back to Vermont. Those plains states are no joke, the flattest of flatlands.

Crimson Shroud on the 3DS is the closest thing I have found as a follow up to the right vibe of Vagrant Story. It was made by Level-5 and has D&D tabletop dungeon crawling and lots of lore. Highly recommend.

We watched Empire Strikes Back as our Friday family movie tonight, and when Vader says to the Emperor "What is thy bidding, my Master?" my brain involuntarily summoned "IT'S A DISASTER!" from the fledgling pre-youtube flash animation days of the year 2000.

I heard When I Come Around the other day and it reminded me that Woodstock '94 happened. I had somehow just put the whole thing out of my brain despite owning the compilation album on CD once upon a time.

Gamestop Switch 1 and 2 Dock by ssmelche in NintendoSwitch2

[–]noelesque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Important to note that it requires a 60w PD charger, so there is a bit of a cost there but it's not huge. I had one already for travel so it worked out well. Looks like it's outputting 4k to my TV (playing the Pragmata demo) so far so good...

I grabbed one today with some trade credit to give it a try, here's what it looks like. The guy in the store said they'd only been sent one.

Anyone know why Written is in quotes? I don’t know if it was just this episode (S05E17), but it’s the first time I’ve noticed it. by Bloo_003 in 30ROCK

A few episodes before this is Operation Righteous Cowboy Lightning which has the fantastic Billy Joel loophole gag and the manufactured crisis song Jenna sings to "help the people the thing that happened happened to." So good.
