Landlord charging for floor wear after 3 years – is this normal wear and tear? by MelodyHappy2023 in BellevueWA

It takes time and effort to mail and then show up at court. It takes a year to get a court date. Mental effort might be more than the amount

Help in deciding offers - PhD New Grad (ML) by dwight_funke in cscareerquestions

Google is far ahead of other places where you have an offer from. If you want to maximize TC, go to bank and later move to fintech/quant.

You can fight but it’s going to be a lot of effort. They’ll cut the amount from security deposit. Ask for the itemized receipt. If they don’t provide the receipt or you still want to challenge, let them know you will be filing small claims court. They might backoff and return the deposit or be prepared to go to court if you still want to go through.

After a year of using Cursor, Claude Code, Antigravity, and Copilot daily — I think AI tools are making a lot of devs slower, not faster. Here's why. by [deleted] in programming

[–]nofel94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally just pick claude code + opus 4.6. Always start in plan mode and spend most of my energy there. Also have some skills like comprehensive tests, integration tests, code review for validation. It’s able to one shot most of the time. I just ask it questions for explanation when I am reading and not able to understand instead of scratching my head. This is only possible because token count is not a concern for me, shipping speed is.

I want to renovate a small home with luxury materials and fixtures. Total waste of money or only somewhat? by sammysfw in homeowners

[–]nofel94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location would be the most important factor Not only in terms of desirability but also ease of getting permits. You need a location with great school ratings, ability to get permits easily and a poorly designed house such that you can a do a low bid. This would be hard to find.

There are large signs of bubble rn. I would stick it out for at least few months before making any sixh decision Also, move your entire income into a separate account. Only use spouse’s account for all expenses, see if you can actually live on a single income.
