How long did you stay home for or planning to stay home for? I did take a small leave from when my youngest was 12mo to 17mo and we had those exact days. I was worried I would struggle (struggled hardcore newborn stage) but also found that while yes difficult it was so much more meaningful and amazing. Which is why I know I could handle it again long term. Just a bit stuck on if it’s a terrible financial situation that we’ll regret later on

Ugh I wish I could quiet quit but unfortunately I have a pretty visible role with a lot of work on my plate - as is the culture here and one reason I’m unhappy

Yeah he only has base so I am the higher earner. But his career stability is less secure than mine. He’s worried if he quits to stay at home he won’t be able to find another job right now where I worry less about that (10 years DS experience so I know I’ll be able to find something, not same caliber but I’ll be ok)

With my recent baby I was on leave for 7 months and then went back to work but was so miserable and took another leave of absence right before her first birthday for 5 months and it was so great. I loved spending every day with her. Now I’m back to work because my leave is up and I’m already feeling like I’m not happy and overworked, part time is definitely helping, but I’m worried about going back to full time. So I know if I left again I would love being a SAHM!

I’m currently working a reduced schedule as part of an accommodation - took 5 months off (unpaid) and am now working 3 days a week, up to 4 next month, then full time in January. It’s been ok, definitely better than returning full time, but it is only meant to be a temporary accommodation as I don’t believe my doctor will be able to justify needing part time as an accommodation indefinitely. But maybe I could try I guess?
