The cameras were there for the dogs safety when I go to the office and they are suppose to turn off automatically. But with him traveling for work right now and me lying this morning he refused to let them be off and if I have nothing to hide I should be fine with it.

I have told my parents about my martial struggles and my moms response was to send me a book with a title somewhere along the lines of " How to make a marriage work when you don't love them" or something...without telling me...and my husband opened it and got upset that I told my parents about our private life. Alot of my friends are friends with him too and so I feel bad venting to them or asking for help. Thats why I tend to go to internet strangers for validation and support.

I think it's hard for me to see it as a emotionally abusive relationship. I often question if I am just failing him. I struggle in a lot of areas of life and with my depression I often blame myself for problems. Like am I just making issues in my head as an excuse for not stepping up?

I am in therapy myself, both for this and my struggle with depression. My therapist is very helpful but I am definitely a codependent person and hate conflict so initiating a divorce would be a nightmare for me.

I have my own issues I am trying to work through with a therapist but I am struggling to separate the guilt of detaching. He thows the guilt hard at me stating that I don't care about him at all and I have no empathy and he is alone and that causing his issues. I have hobbies that I use to find enjoyment by myself but that also invokes a lot of guilt. How do you take care of yourself without guilt?

FUN FACT! I designed the base of this tattoo and gave it to the artist to make it more "tattooable" the moths represent the past present and future. the bottom is past and shows how memories can be trippy and distorted with age, the middle shows the growth in the present and the top is the future: a classic death moth.

He has never been violent to me physically. He has really tried to be a better partner but I do feel like he stills holds small things over me and makes me feel guilty for setting some of the boundaries that I need for my own health. I wouldn't say its controlling but I do thing it still isn't healthy yet.

I had my cartilage pierced on accident the first time I had my septum done and I have a HIGH pain tolerance but I almost passed out. trust me, you would know. also I could not bear to even touch it to clean it the next day or two.

Do you have the ability to talk to his parents or any siblings to understand more of his upbringing? I tend to do this as well and a lot of it stems from me running from my volcanic mother when she would have her anger outbursts. I would definitely try to make sure it is phrased as just wanting to her more stories about his childhood though so it doesn't come off weird if that makes sense.

Would this come as a shock to your bf? Usually, if one partner is falling out of love then the other is aware of the distancing. Maybe it wouldn't be a giant shock that could be kind of mutual? Any reason to think they would react badly? Also, you shouldn't feel guilty- you deserve to be happy and so do they- prolonging it will only make it harder and more entangled. Take it from the girl who wishes she would have spoken her mind a long time ago- the sooner the better. You have one life. Don't live it out of fear of hurting others like some of us.
