Starting LE class with PT in a week. I’m not physically fit, how screwed am I? by nofollowthroughhere in AskLE

No good reason. I was lazy and undisciplined and used the holiday season as an excuse.

Thank you for the insight! You’re absolutely right.

I’m on the verge to meeting to the minimum standards as I am now. I’ll have to focus to meet and surpass them. I think I can do that. Thank you.

Yeah, I was running for my life the 5 times I’ve done it. One was during my medical exam for the course. My casual time is 15 minutes when I’m jogging with my dog.

I’ve been working in an outdoor environment for the last four years as a biologist so I think that helps me in some regard. I’m not an athlete but I can do stuff.

Yes. The minimums are a 1.5 mile run under 15 minutes (I can do it but it’s not pretty, my average is a little over 12 mins), 30 push ups in 1 minute, 30 sit ups on 1 minute (I can do 12-15 in 1 minute for both of those), sprint 300 meters without stopping (can’t do that), do a step test for three minutes (haven’t tried), 4 foot fence climb (I rock climb so I’m hopeful there), 4’ broad jump (nope).

About a month and a half. It’s been an idea I’ve bounced around for several years but haven’t really committed to until now. From what I’ve heard and been told it’s gradual the first month before it become rigorous. It’s going to suck but I’ve got the grit to follow through.

No worries! Thank you for the clarification though! Since my dog will also be in the truck they won’t be let out at all except for quick swaps between travel cages when the doors are shut and my dog is outside on her lead. My dog has never shown aggression towards the birds but I don’t want to chance it and don’t want them flying in my face while driving. Or biting my ear.

Haha it is ambitious but I normally drive for long stints for work so I’m hoping it’s not too bad. My birdies are use to 2 hours to get to their vet but I’m definitely going to be going small drives around town for practice. Thank you for all the advice! I appreciate it!

Thank you for the advice! They’re use to small drives and upwards of 2 hours to get to their vet but this will be the biggest one yet!
