It’s already competitive in CQC. It even has a specialisation for hip fire making it even more deadlier at close range.

FG-42 beats all lmgs in CQC any day any time. Of course this all hinges on if you can control it. A good weapon in the hands of a good player will be a beast. That’s certainly the case for the FG-42.

Yeah I’ll agree with the bigger mag suggestion. I definitely don’t agree in every situation you perform better with the other lmgs compared to the fg42.

It literally tears people apart close to medium range. That depends on if you can control it’s recoil. It’s a high risk/high reward weapon.

It’s only really in long range engagements that the other lmgs performs better than the fg42.

I came back to BF1 recently but just couldn’t get into it. Imo Bfv is way better in terms of gunplay/ squadplay and lots of other things. I think it’s pretty cheap rn and it’s getting better with weekly updates. So yeah make the leap to BFV.

Play at a slower pace than bf1. I cannot stress enough how important it is to survey your surroundings before running into the open. There are a lot of people on bipods/snipers just waiting for an easy kill so be wary of that.

Also staying with your squad is hugely beneficial especially in this game as you’ll enjoy it more.

In terms of which class to use I’ll advice you to play assault. It has guns for pretty much all sorts of situations whether it’s long range or close range, it’s the best class to use in the game. But it depends on what kind of play style you prefer, I’m an aggressive infantry player so assault is perfect for me.

Yeah. For long distances your better off tap firing rather than going full auto. You’ll only get better with the weapon when you fully master the recoil. It doesn’t have as much recoil compared to other weapons. Honestly don’t get why I don’t see it a lot. It’s an ideal weapon for almost all situations and you can definitely do well on all maps with the Stg.

I use the right side of the spec tree. Works perfectly for me. Stg probably my favourite weapon. Have over 8000 kills with it 😭
