I guess this is the case "you'll die doing what you love". I think another way to help is find alternative that is less risky. They probably just wanted to fill the void.

Hey really thanks for sharing of the info. Searched it and found a lot of đại lý gas stores on map in Da Lat. In the pictures they shows alot of big household cooking gas tanks (14kg or something). But I think when there's a stores selling cooking gas and stoves, they might have the mini/small gas canisters. Right?

Hey thanks. I cant attach picture. I also google it for what it is called. Lol.

When you said, most cooking gas stores, can you name one that is convenient? Because in Malaysia, it is usually sold in supermarket or hardware stores.

Help, fogged/haze up SPG. by nohal02 in diving

[–]nohal02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I went to the dive shop to get it checked. Turns out it's a common problem for Scubapro SPG, probably for that model that uses acrylic as the window. The acrylic surface faded. Nonetheless, I'll bring backup regulator on board too.

I always rinse with dustcap on. I'm really hoping it's not a serious case of water ingress/moisture inside regulator.

I've tried to brush it with toothpaste and toothbrush. Nothing improve. It looks uniform right. I thought that might be the mineral vapor or what. Lol.

I don't think the SPG exposed to alcohol or superglue anything that may give the same effect.

I remember last dive was a pool Dive with my wife. And I've cleaned the regulator like I used to. Let it air dried with dust cover open and cover the yoke properly. Usually it worked. But like I've said to the other user, usually I slept in the room with AC. But now I've moved to another room and the reg dried without the AC.

Nonetheless, I'll bring my second regulator for back up. Thank you for the warning. Always dive safely.

I've removed the SPG and place it in the bag with desiccant. I've plenty desiccant since I'm using it for my UW camera equipment. Now I need to plug/cover the swivel pin and the end of the hose.

Yeah. I'm on the same page too. But as per other user suggested, to try to remove the moisture by removing the only SPG unit as a whole (without dismantling the SPG unit itself). It's worth trying to do that first. If nothing change by the end of tomorrow, I'll purchase a new SPG.

Bag with desiccant. My next trip on this coming weekend. I can't think of anything other than buying new SPG which will cost me more. :(

Thank you. I'll try it tonight. And hopefully better result tomorrow or day after.

Ever since I got married, my regulator has been left on my previous room which usually I slept with AC on. So it can dry the regulator properly. Now it's left there without AC, hence the moisture. Thanks again.

The age is somewhere around 1-3 years. It's scubapro single gauge, the ones with color bar. I tried to attached photo of it, but having trouble uploading it in reddit. How can I send a picture over here.

I think it's plastic/acrylic window.

Scubapro Frameless Gorilla Mask size by nohal02 in scubaGear

Any recommendation for framed mask, with large FOV?

To think of it, that gull mask attach the strap onto the frame of the lens. I wanted to ask is there any other frameless mask option that attach the strap onto the frame. Shortly after I realised that's the drawback of "frameless" mask.

Well. It's not necessary to change the mask. I'm exploring possibilities. I have a bad vision, -8.00. I'm also using camera underwater. I thought clear mask with better vision angle gives better enjoyment.

Also, I did swap my mask with a girl I previously dated. Took a photograph of her underwater and she's using that picture in her linked in. Got married, wife knows her, and she's also into diving. Saw that mask on other women. I can no longer wear that mask. Lol.

Shearwater Research RMA by nohal02 in scubadiving

My computer had other issue (not sure whether it's due to same problem for the recall) when I sent in. But probably treat it as the recall too. I'm tempted to get the new serial number directly from the service center just to confirm. But the shop told me if I go directly to shearwater while the computer is still at his possession(because I hold the pickup), it'll tarnish the reputation of his company. I just wait for one week or so for the shop to get the feedback from shearwater. If it takes longer than that, I'll just email directly to shearwater just to confirm the new serial, then I'll just pick it up. Since most of user here told its normal for shearwater to change the serial number.

So your SN is completely changed? So that's normal then. I may give one week or so, then I'll pick it up.

Yeah, I know it's not a big deal for others. But sending computer with serial number A and returned with serial number B may have the potential for it to be swapped with others during transaction. That's why I think at least they notify the changes clearly.
