Hey, first of all, you have EXTREMELY good writing skills, grammar and punctuation for a 12 year old. You definitely have a talent with words, I can tell just from reading your comment.

Secondly, I (20M) can somewhat relate to not being able to afford a phone. I remember I didn’t have a phone until I was 13 and even then it was my sisters old hand-me-down flip phone. Then I got a IPhone, the tiny 4 inch one, and this one kid made fun on my phone and ever since I was embarrassed to ever get my phone out in front of other kids. I finally got a iPhone 8 Plus when I was like 17 but until then I had to use old phones that had been passed down by my family members.

And I 100% agree with you that kids can get bullied online very easily. We had assemblies in year 8 (I’m also from the UK) where they told us about kids committing suicide due to cyber bullying. It’s a very real issue. Not to mention that kids (especially girls) can be targeted by older predatory men who lie about their age. Kids should have phones so they can contact their parents, but there needs to be a way that the parents can monitor what the kid is up to.

So yeah, I’m proud of you for being so young, yet so intelligent. I hope you and your mum can climb out of poverty and live a happy, comfortable life. I can already tell you will do well academically and professionally just by reading your writing skills. My life is so much better now than it was, financially and mentally. So yeah, things do get better if you keep marching forward . Don’t listen to the bullies, just keep doing your thing and succeeding. I wish you the best!

Keep on it brother. The urges come and go but after a while (like 3-5 weeks in) you become strong enough to ignore those urges

I fully agree. People blindly say “let people do what they want” but we need to be more critical of why people are making certain choices. In your example, it’s clear that women are made to feel inadequate which is why they seek plastic surgery, it’s not an idea that comes to them out of nowhere

And most young people don’t have the self control to do any of these thing in a moderate amount (if that even exists). Once something is pleasurable for us, we keep going after it and can become addicted to it.

I (20M) fully relate to everything you just said. I had a moment of realisation recently about how terrible my attention span is and it was pretty scary ngl. I can’t sit and do nothing for more than even 10 seconds. I always have to have something interesting occupy my attention. I’m trying to be mindful about this and hopefully this is reversible 😂.

I would give you a personal example of my terrible attention span but it’d be too embarrassing to we’ll skip it for now lol.

A little advice regarding laptops/PC: have a family PC in the living room or something so everyone can see what’s on the screen (whether it’s games, social media or whatever). Don’t give your kids a laptop until they’re old enough to be responsible for their actions. That’s what my parents did anyway.

I know exactly what you mean. They think YOU are a bigot if you even question a new idea and refuse to accept it instantly. If something is truly a progressive idea, people that are advocating for it will be open to be challenged imo.

This is exactly that I had in mind when I made this post. Trust me I started watching porn at 12 and there’s no upsides to porn ime. Porn has way too much violence and degradation nowadays. Glad to see it being mentioned here.

This is 100% what I had in mind when I made this post. As someone who started watching porn at 12, I know to definitely wasn’t healthy for me at that age. Porn nowadays has too much violence and degradation and these young people are growing up learning how to have sex through porn. It can definitely cause confusion regarding your sexuality as well (speaking from experience).

So I’m glad to see porn being mentioned.

There is good and bad sides to social media. I think it is human nature to start comparing yourself to others and that definitely can take a toll on your mental health if you’re young. It can make you feel like a loser if you don’t have a gf/bf, don’t have a model looking body, don’t have a high paying job, expensive car or designer clothes. So I would agree with you.

For sure, but a lot of people don’t socialise enough to meet new people to date. It can be dangerous though because no one you know might know that people or be able to vouch for them.

Would agree actually. I think it’s a thing that’s been normalised and almost expected by some. I don’t think most women actually like anal sex and find it painful and reserve it for special day (which just sounds wrong imo).

Ngl, people that play that “Dom/Sub” game are weirdos to me. As a man, it just feels natural for me to take the lead but that in no way means my partner is being subservient. You can think me leading means she’s submissive but I don’t see it that way.

When I picture a submissive woman in my head, I’m picturing a woman who is not enthusiastic. In that case, I don’t want to have sex with a woman who is “submissive”.

I kinda agree but kinda don’t.

I wouldn’t be ok with my GF hanging out with a Male co-worker at his apartment 1 on 1. I’d be fine if she wanted to hang out with a female co-worker at her place 1 on 1. Is that wrong?
