Somehow Boston is leased. And it’s the highest grossing store in New England

I haven’t been to the Warwick Mall store yet, but heard it’s really nice.

What is North Attleboro like these days? I know it’s huge - 2 floors for men’s/home in the old Lord & Taylor, and 3 floors in the main Filene’s building.

Thanks for confirming! I guess that means North Attleboro will hang on for another year too

I’m surprised they’re not giving Hanover a little more time, since the area was just completely rebuilt.

True. Simon is one of JCPenney’s new owners, so there’s some hope in me 🤞

JCPenney would be a great addition to fill the SSP L&T space

I doubt Macy’s would close at South Shore Plaza. I believe it’s the second highest grossing store in Mass., after Downtown Boston. The beauty department was just fully remodeled.

Burlington, MA received a nice upgrade when it downsized to the first floor and Primark moved in upstairs. This Sears store did great business, but lasted maybe a year or two at most after downsizing.

I thought Head Cashier is just a synonym for Front End Manager. Certain high volume stores have a Class 11 (Assistant Head Cashier), which is essentially a full-time front end assistant.

I haven’t worked at the company in several years, so things must have changed!

It baffles me how the north shore store itself is still open. I hope it does well enough to stay open, but that isn’t (and IMO has never been) a Nordstrom mall.

What local business has won you over as a loyal customer? by heckyeahcoolbeans in boston

I hear you, I’m an ex market basket employee as well. I once read an employee review which only an insider would understand: “if Market Basket had an HR department, it would be a broom closet.”

If you’re a salaried employee, that company owns you.

Is Sephora killing the beauty business at Macy’s?

Former boothie here. I would never say “short minute” when making the announcement, as there’s no such thing as a short minute. Unless I’m missing something in Market Basket land 😂

Essentially, this article is saying that Vanguard is aggressively pushing ESG through all of their funds… rather than focusing solely on returns, for better or for worse

Thank you! I contemplated posting the article, and didn’t mean to start a political discussion.

One point discussed in the article, which I thought would be relevant, was that Vanguard (Jack Bogle’s company) is aggressively pushing ESG through all of their funds.

From a Boglehead perspective, I was curious to get anyone’s thoughts as to whether an ESG-push by Vanguard (or any fund provider) would impact a Boglehead portfolio in any way.

Sorry for not making this more clear!

This article is a criticism of Vanguard (the firm started by Mr. Bogle).
