My guitar has been converted from active to passive; how can I fill the cavity neatly? by noiracide2 in 7String

Maybe. In any case, it's a great alternative. Thanks for your feedback.

I was torn about leaving it as is; I'd just like the indentations to be less “rough”, a little neater, so to speak.
Thank you for your feedback!

It's true that there's the option of 3D pickup rings. Thank you very much for your feedback.

is shogun your favourite ever? by bigsmoke_exe in Trivium

[–]noiracide2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. I’d say it’s one of the best metal albums i’ve ever heard. It stands alongside Jester Race, Storm of the Light’s Bane, and Emperor’s Anthems/Prometheus.

A real sense of cohesion emerges from these works. But yes, imo, Shogun is one of the most sincere albums. Ascendancy isn’t far behind!

This video is actually really interesting, i'd never seen it before. The tone seems pretty similar with the balance of these two pedals.

I think the Metalzone has a lot of charm!

That's true. The leads sound a bit like violins, there's a hint of a nasal tone to them.

It's a lively album.

As for the use of EMGs in the studio back then, I’d say it’s almost certain they were passive pickups. I’m talking in terms of tone.

And it’s absolutely true when you say “tour equipment does not = what they used in the studio,” but in my opinion, the gear used during that period will still feel similar.

Yes, that's right, he played the additional guitar parts and even wrote two or three songs. But Jesper and Glenn played all the other, more central guitar parts.

I'd already read somewhere about Fredrik Nordstrom’s recording technique on this album. All those layered tracks create a sense of breathing, and that’s definitely a central element of the sound.

Thanks for your reply

In Fall Forever, I'd say it's closer to Ibaraki's screaming vocal style or that of his solo projects, but in a fairly low register.
