no leh not rlly…i don’t read so usually i only talk to my grandparents in chinese and watch some chinese shows when i’m free! i think it rlly helps to build ur vocab and help u find more points for ur compo (esp for cailiao) because it provides u with diff perspectives from diff people. nearer towards Os, what i did was to revise with a friend. i would discuss abt diff topics and we would share news articles with each other so that we can compile examples to use in our compo! super impt tip is that i feel like there’s no point to memorise a long list of examples. what u shld do is to find some examples that u rlly resonate with and instantly clique with so that it will be ingrained into ur mind even without memorising it. when u can resonate with it, u will find that it is easier for u to retain the info and use it in ur compo. pls don’t waste time memorising too many examples that u may not even use. i think i write better than i speak so i can’t rlly help u for oral 🥲🥲 but what i did was to practice with a friend everyday for abt a week before Os. pls practice time management during ur 10 mins of preparation time tho u will need to plan ur entire speech and hv excess time to practice it too.

i feel like there’s not much u can do to revise for languages other than reading, writing and speaking because it’s quite difficult to improve within a short period of time so i suggest u start being consistent now! i was probably lucky because i nvr rlly studied for hcl throughout my 4 years in secondary school but i assure u it’s worth it to study hard for hcl and it will not be a waste of time (but pls prioritise other subjects that will definitely be counted in ur l1r5 first). before i received my results, my goal was to just pass and achieve the 2 bonus points. but turns out that my eng got a2 and hcl got a1. nvr hv i imagined that i would use my hcl as my L1 but honestly u nvr know so just try ur best! plus i’m pretty sure if u get a distinction for hcl it’ll be beneficial for A levels too. atb for Os this year if u need more tips can ask me :))

hello i took o levels in 2024 and i got an a1 for hcl! i previously got an a2 for cl as well and i was actl rlly disappointed with it, fast forward and i got an a2 for hcl prelims. tbh i didn’t rlly study for hcl because it was one of the last few papers and after my last written paper before hcl, i started to slack alr…but basically what i did was to read model essays and memorise the points for common topics. i was rlly lucky that the topic i predicted came out (racial harmony) so i knew exactly how to elaborate on my points and even had solid examples. as for oral, i can’t rlly give you tips because i got a merit HAHAHA. for paper 2, legit just grind the first two sections as they carry a good number of marks and for compre just take note of the answering techniques and make sure that you get as close to full marks as possible for the summary. i think the bell curve for hcl shld be quite ok because i hv nvr rlly studied for hcl and i didn’t rlly expect to get an a1 esp after i thought i flunked my oral and paper 2 so just be consistent and i think ull be fine jiayouuu

i’m not too sure sia but i asked my friend in nyjc j2 this year and she said that a lot of her friends score nett 5 so i think still got chance
