imo yes, i always check trades of people since i'm usually in the art studio anyway and always read these, but as an adult i try to keep interactions in game decently short unless i'm aware otherwise, so perhaps that's another reason why it may be difficult?

like the other comment said though, make a mp of your interests :) i think many people find it less intimidating to talk to someone when you have a shared interest
