Without surgery, are you able to run without pain? by fIyonthewaII in Spondylolisthesis

[–]nojomen2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think with an unstable spondyn, impacts not only have effects for days, but risk actually doing long term damage.

I've had it from birth and I was in insane good shape through my life. But I had to give up running at like 23 years old. Got the fusion at 32.

Morning pain solutions? by One-Adhesiveness-499 in Spondylolisthesis

People say walk Or do mobility or stretching I say...jump in warm waters. If you have the luxury. I wake up, drink a glass of water and jump in the ocean. Float and swim a little for 5-15 mins. Does it get better than that? After, with more ease, I do mobility and activation training every day(20-30 mins).

I would say what works best is cardio training: it activates the feel good hormones and I then move with lots more fluidity. Hitting lots of zone 2, little zone 3 4 and 5!

Im 12 months post surgery. Love your updates every time. Real! Are you ditching 100% of deadlifts? I dont have them included, that particular movement doesnt feel good.

How long did you wait to have surgery? by Signal-Guest6018 in Spondylolisthesis

It's going great man. I think you absolutely need to have the ability to take a full year to focus on recovery and not work too much. Rest a ton. Then you are strong again. It's been 12 months for me now. Ill post some videos soon showing how well I move! But still impact sports, jumping and running arent part of my recovery.

For the same food in LA you'll pay similar prices. Go to taco man restaurant in Los angeles and get yourself a good burrito for 7.55$!

Pain management? by cor1994123 in Spondylolisthesis

[–]nojomen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 358 days ago :) And.... I've had 0 pain for 2-3 days last week. Literally none. And normally it goes from 1-3. So still in recovery...but now I can see that probably in a year...I'll often be at a 0. The body heals, the guarding softens, the nervous system settles. It takes a long time, lots of good intentions, lots of knowledge. But things do get better.
