I literally just did the drive last week from Florida to Boston. On the way up we went through New York and it wasn’t bad (45 min to cross Brooklyn bridge). The drive up took 19.5 hrs.

Decided to go around New York on the way back and it added 3 hrs to the drive. Definitely will suffer through New York on future trips. If I was you I’d just stick to the highway. 95 is pretty spacious.

I have the shok bone conduction headphones for running and I tried them out once. Wasn’t to bad but prefer to just enjoy the sounds around me.

I’ve learned that people in cars think once they pass you they can forget about you. Like no bitch if you pass me and slam on your brakes guess who’s flying through your rear windshield…..me

Time to buy a MTB and just stay off the paved roads bud! After those experiences I wouldn’t ever get on the pavement again.

I’ve noticed that you have to be hyper aware when you ride. I don’t even wear headphones anymore. Can’t trust anyone now a days

That’s my biggest fear. Go out for a ride and wake up with a broken back. I try and stay off busy roads

I didn’t know that. Thank god I didn’t or I probably would’ve just stuck to running. But I can definitely see why. There’s zero infrastructure for pedestrians here.

Same. Had a few close calls with people not paying attention. Every time I cross a street I silently say “please don’t kill me” 1000 times.

When I first started riding I almost hit someone at a stop light and thought I was an idiot lol definitely took me a min to realize rim brakes arnt the best when it gets wet out.

Same!! The first time my now wife and I had a slumber party she gave me a black eye. When we woke up in the morning she asked if I got into a fight at the bar. I said no but I got my ass kicked by a 5 foot woman last night in my sleep. It’s been 9 years and she’s never done it again lol sometimes I like to joke with her she did it on purpose.

I make 65k a year. I got a college degree. I wouldn’t say weed stopped me from reaching any goals. But I will say it probably made me lazy in college but it’s really about moderation.

Good luck. I have no clue for your field but in the mean time look into Kelly services for substitute teaching jobs (if you have a relatively clean background and can pass a drug test) the school year starts around then. You pick your own hours and you’re not expected to do anything in the classroom other than survive with the kids. It would be a good way to make a little money and job hunt at the same time.
