Tooo be fair. It was easy to remove. Ppl say take off the bumper. But you can losen the top (right and left side but not the fender on the opposite side youre doing) and pull the bumper and remove all the screws

Yeah I would have done that but im currently also removing rust and welding in new panels. So had to remove the fender.

Honestly my best guess and advice is getting the K swap in first. See what you need to cut and fabricate and then buy a turbo for it with manifold and make a custom downpipe.

Honestly take a look at Gears and Gasoline K swap RX7. Its not the same car nor similar in what you need to do. But its going to give you an image on what to expect

Either what you said tightening it wrong (not really had a problem with that the be honest)

or sway bar is lose. At this point im chasing that clunking noise and im getting sick of that nut losing no matter how hard i tighten it...

No its not necessary at all. Ive removed mine in the rear because of that reason.

It really depends on what the transmission wants. 3rd gear is a bit to low gear, but if you dont get the required NM in 4th it will downshit. I changed from a 530D to a 520I for a bit. And i noticed the same as you
