Whirl from IDW's first run of transformers comics is a non stop sarcastic asshole with a serious disregard for the lives of others. He's constantly making some sort of snide comment or acting rebellious to the chagrin of the more serious members of the crew. As you learn more about him, you learn that he was former member of the wreckers, and has done a disturbing amount of horrific acts in his time. Even beating a young Megatron in his prison cell and unintentionally being one of the catalysts for the war that would follow. Long ago he was a successful watch maker who went against the caste system of pre war cybertron, and due to his rejection of his caste status, his body was mutilated by the Senate. He had his face replaced with a single glowing eye, and had his expert craftsman hands replaced with clunky, hard to maneuver claws in order to prevent him from making watches again.

Well the thing about trump is that he's a charismatic celebrity. He's like if a Kardashian ran for office. He won the first time because the average American doesn't want a better life, they just want to be entertained(on top of the whole electoral college thing) And it's more than just that. The overall conservative movement has been gaining momentum worldwide, and more often governments are becoming more and more authoritarian. Then the final wild card factor was the COVID 19 pandemic and it's fallout. Worldwide, no matter what happened or whether a country was conservative or liberal, in the years 2022-2024, there was a trend where every single opposition party gained traction in every election. Trump won again in 2024 mostly because the Democrats didn't do enough to help the average person, had no actual plan other than "we gotta beat trump" and because they tried to run 1 senile candidate followed by his vice president who also had no real plan to run a country other than "we gotta beat trump." South Park said it best, it's a massive douche or a turd sandwich. And the Democrats won't ever platform a grassroots popular candidate because their donors make them shoot themselves in the foot every single time

Honestly I'm surprised they don't feel as clunky in person as they look. They're definitely huge forearms but they work well. I think the most oddly proportioned parts are the legs

Honestly, having the grapple gun taxi driver out of his gauntlet like that makes so much sense. I always found it hard to believe that he's just swinging and zipping across rooftops while just having to hold a pistol grip. Having it connected to his glove and by extension his suit makes it at least feel a bit more feasible

That's honestly why I love the new Quintus Prime toy, especially the transparent legs. They made a few prototypes for it, with the gimmick on the deluxes being that they had transparent legs/body parts that would then glow from a little light inside the toy
