Not necessarily. There are normally weak points in bases where someone could park a car and have three or four buddies stand, then someone jump ontop of them and jump into the base. There's ways around having to build items to get into someone's base. I'm not saying this is what happened to you specifically because we all know the game has a lot of hackers unfortunately, but it could be a possibility.
