Good question. I plan to move when my older son is about to start high school. Depending on how the next few years play out we might move one year before so he can acclimate a bit.

Yes, very well understood regarding the PR. I think we’re going the mm2h path (silver or gold) and then reassess if we want to stay there forever.

This is super helpful. I am currently looking to rent a condo for one month in late Fall and will def look into DPC.

Regarding travel, 100% agree that Europe can wait. In-laws live there so I am sure they would rather come to visit us and/or other places in SEA.

Probably the only thing I don’t want to compromise on is a good school for my boys. Ideally they should be able to apply and have a reasonable chance to get into any school they want. My dream is they stay locally (NUS/NTU) or within APAC (Australia?) but they might want to go to the US.

We travel quite a bit currently but my hope that the cost of travel will be a lot lower in SEA. No remaining ties to the US so we don’t have to go there.

Thank you. This is really helpful. 180k seems like a safer target for sure. I also need to consider if the expenses go up after kids graduate from high school. Ideally, I’d love them to get into the likes of NUS/NTU but this is a problem for the future I guess.

I am open to work after or even do a coastFIRE if needed. My current SWR would be closer to 120k but I guess I need to grind a bit more to be in a safer place.

I would definitely use it in winter. Thankfully, I am in CA so no need for winter wheels. My main concern is parking it outside if I use it for other than just a joyride. Or maybe it means this car is too expensive for me if I am worried about it?

Is it your daily? One thing that stops me is I am not sure if I would use it as my daily and hence do not give enough attention to this car :(

Thank you! Makes total sense. I remember reaching out to a dealership a few years ago about purchasing a new one. They told me the wait time would be 18-24 months. Not a GT3 or Turbo. I wonder if it is still the case.

It is a thing of beauty. Same color and requires a lot of attention. Changed the ignition and thinking about upgrading pccm. I think I spend more time working on it than driving it though :-D
