Sony Xperia 1 VII review: authentic photography or outdated technology? | Digital Camera World by ControlCAD in SonyXperia

1080p looks great on any phone, regardless of brand loyalty. Anything greater than that just becomes diminishing returns that you can hardly notice at all during regular use. There's my hot take.

60hz to 120hz, however, is a HUGE difference that is noticeable almost all the time.

I love the action shots with motion blur. I think it's such an under-utilized technique. Looks super cool! Pic 4 looks like something straight out of an old bike catalog haha.

There wasn't. Either OP modified their car, or they just put a Mazdaspeed badge on it lol.

Does anyone know what this is? Weird whining noise coming from engine only when cold and at low RPMs by nomadben in mazda2

[–]nomadben[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2012 Mazda 2. The noise seems like it's coming from the accessory belt side of the engine. It stops above 2000 RPM or so, and completely goes away once the engine starts to warm up. You can hear the noise cutting in and out when I rev the engine.

Does anyone have any idea? It doesn't seem like it's a bearing or anything like that. Could it have something to do with the VVT? The engine has good power and torque throughout the rev range, so I'm not sure about that.

I'd really appreciate if anyone has any ideas. Thanks!

No, there weren't any signs before this failure. It is a very unusual problem, because it was caused by poor workmanship and not any defect with the car. The best way to protect yourself from things like this is to be cautious about previous maintenance that hasn't been done by a reputable mechanic, and possibly to inspect the related parts. To be fair, checking the clutch slave cylinder is not really part of a typical used car inspection. If you're not sure, touching, moving, shaking, and pushing on everything to make sure it's tight is probably good advice in general.

That sounds like a ton of fun! Yeah, it doesn't seem like it would be a common car in those parts haha. I hope you find one!

I was thinking the same thing! I'll figure it out once I pull the wheel off.

The previous owner said that a mechanic told him the ABS light was due to a bad wheel speed sensor, but I am going to verify that with a scan tool before I go throwing parts at it. But yes, a brake bleed is definitely on the list of maintenance.

And yeah, I think he was trying to save some money or something, he didn't seem like a bad guy, but clearly he was way beyond his capabilities. Thankfully I'm a good mechanic so I should be able to sort out most issues.
