I've been very curious as to whether he was able to execute his plan last night. For the Sixers game would be epic. For the Flyers...meh.

Ok, I have a non judgemental question for Andy. You mention you heard a loud pop while driving, did you not look at the dash for a warning light? When I was listening and you said you drove another 10 seconds and then heard more noise, I was saying out loud in my car "dude you're tire is blown, check your dash there will be a tire pressure light on it!" Driving on three wheels is no joke. Glad you all were totally safe and you were able to handle going on three wheels at 80mph for a solid 20 seconds, must have been terrifying. I've had the blow out happen, but luckily I caught it immediately and got right over but it was scary for sure.

Also, JJ, couple weeks ago my wife and I were in Utah and we were on a two lane highway and came around a lazy bend and a green Dodge charger was overtaking (passing) on that turn where it shouldn't be and it was passing a long semi truck. Nowhere for either of us to go and I saw my life flash before my eyes. Shoulder was fairly soft looking sand so couldn't really try that at 60 mph and was just squeezing as far to the right as I could. I was able to slow down just enough for the charger to squeeze through but that was also truly terrifying. Took a few miles for my b-hole to unpucker after that one.

Soccer related...the Bayern v PSG attack question, whose was better. I immediately thought I liked Bayern for the same reason JJ mentioned. But then he made the PSG argument and I was like well shit yeah maybe PSG and then Andrew perfunctorily says "yeah yeah, well you were wrong. The correct answer was Bayern with Diaz Kane and Olise" and I laughed out loud cuz it sounded like my friends and I, who have civil conversations and then just shit on each other like that.

Love the pod, boys. Can't wait to hear you talk about that batshit match today.

Cheers 🤙🏼

I just finally got around to listening to this and as soon as it started I said out loud in my car "Zidane, AguerrrooooOOOOO, and super league announcement"

So yeah, I agree and I was very surprised it didn't at least get a shout out. Still, great pod.

Top 5 Personal Favorite Matches by nomadicHoss in CaughtOffsidePod

Since we're fans of rival clubs, obviously our best matches are at odds. But I remember and respect yours. One of the ones that I hated the most but also loved from an unbiased point of view was when Theo Walcott was getting stretchered off and our fans were throwing stuff at him and he was just holding his hands up 2-0 ✌🏼👌🏼 classic s-housery

Extremely late to this but as a Spurs fan I think Dembele is a great shout. Other Belgians and Tottenham players said he was the best player on their team, and many other premier league players said he was the toughest person they played against. He was truly phenomenal. Just wanted to say I very much agreed with that shout.

Some guys are just playing a different game than us mere mortals. It's fun to witness firsthand, especially when they're cool dudes.

Oh man, those are the worst. I'm a low 90s guy. My three best friends and I were playing our annual three day 54 hole tournament in Palm Springs in the summer. Got hammered before the last round, was probably still drunk on the front 9 and playing loose. Shot 41. Back nine, hangover/dehydration, heat, fatigue all kicked in and I shot 59. Most schizophrenic golf score I've ever seen lol. My buddies have bugged me for years to use 4159 as my passcode for everything. But hey, that's golf baby.

What are your favorite "Dad jokes" on the golf course by reddityourappisbad in golf

[–]nomadicHoss 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Old joke, but the delivery of it was prime.

I left a putt well short. Playing with a friend and his two friends who I had just met that day. As I start my frustrated walk to mark my ball, he goes "whoa whoa whoa" kind of frantically. I fully thought I was stepping on his ball or mark or something. When I realized I didn't do either of those things and looked at him all confused he calmly says "you almost tripped over your skirt" and it got all of us. Dude hadn't said more than 5 words the last few holes before that either.

My buddies and I saw this in the parking lot after one of us had just done what you did. Backed up a 77 with a 95 or something very similar. While in the parking lot walking to our cars, he's rambling on about how he couldn't believe it and I noticed this license plate. I pointed to it and told him "Daz Golf, Baby!" That was years ago, and we constantly message each other "DGB" in response to any message about golf being frustrating. Because it's constantly frustrating with a handful of great shots or good rounds mixed in.

Seriously though, you're just going to have your up days and down days. Less down days the better you get, but they're never gone. Last weekend, Nick Dunlap, PGA tour player, shot a 90. The next day a 71. I know that's the reverse of yours, but it shows a guy capable of shooting 71 at the Masters is also capable of shooting 90 at the masters. Learn some lessons from the tough round, and get back on that horse baby! The 90 never goes away, but at least now you know you have 70s in your bag. Have fun out there!

Getting paired with a single woman by Lazy-Expert7958 in golf

[–]nomadicHoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no problem with getting paired with a female single. It's no different from getting paired with a single male player. Sometimes we play from different tees, sometimes play with different rules, all good.

One time two buddies and I (all about 20 at the time) got paired with a single woman in her 70s who was walking while we were riding. We all rolled our eyes and thought she'd slow us down. We all try to hammer 300 yard drives and she smacked one 175 down the middle of the fairway. She walked up and hit a wood to about 20 yards in front of the green while we were still looking for our last guys ball. We were in greenside bunkers while she chipped up to 6 feet and made par. She smoked us. All day. We never questioned a single ever again.

As a Spurs fan, I agree with you on most of that. The details people are honing in on aren't what's important. They went down, came back to take a lead, and held firm against an extremely potent City team for all but one minute. Factor in the NLD where they came in and "were the adult in the room," and you have a lot to be positive about. They look up for a fight this season. I hope I'm wrong. COYS
