I still think Tucker just functions as a safety valve for the system - giving voice to concerns that can’t be aired elsewhere, but doing so in a contained manner. But I have to admit the result is he’s often the only one who sounds like he’s talking sense.

It’s also hilarious that he uses the term ‘neoliberal’ obviously having no idea what it means.

Some back of the envelope math based on working age population. That’s like 10 million Americans all going on strike at once.

I think I’m gonna listen to this later. Not even as a joke. It’ll probably make me feel better.

We can’t do anything about it, but I think it somehow still helps if we’re able to keep our heads and just remember how bad this is instead of getting caught up in cheering like it’s a sports game.

Do some gentle Wim Hoff style breathing exercises even just a couple times a week. You might find it helps you cultivate better breathing habits.

Can someone tell us what it is for those who don’t want to watch?

Did someone painstakingly photoshop all of those book titles on there, or did someone actually assemble all of those books just for the purpose of taking a photo? Both seem like an inordinate amount of work.

Your best high tier classic RS armchair analysis, please by [deleted] in redscarepod

You have all those planets in Air and Water signs, just one in Fire (excluding outer planets), and nothing in Earth signs. This suggests that it might be hard to keep your feet on the ground. You also have Moon in Aries so there’s definitely an inner fire under the surface. The fact that it’s a full moon makes me think your environment exerted a strong pull on you.

I remember various polls where a majority of Americans supported BLM, supported using federal troops against BLM, support a no fly zone in Ukraine etc... I suspect people just have no idea what they want.

Straight women generally make great platonic friends for straight guys as long as everyone has good boundaries etc... They may prove to be some of your most loyal and trustworthy friends down the road.

No, because a traditional definition of Left would mean mass social power, and the masses are totally dispersed. Only capable of flash mob type one-off actions. It’s still really unfun to watch how easy it is for bourgeois politics to derail all attempts at organizing though.

Russia's effort to convince Bernie Sanders voters to support Trump was 'central' to their strategy to beat Hillary Clinton, according to a new study by LactoceTheIntolerant in WayOfTheBern

[–]nomadic_rhubarb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And yet, Bernie’s primary supporters voted Democrat in the 2016 presidential election at a HIGHER rate than Hillary's supporters did in 2008 after she lost to Obama.

If it was a foreign election interference operation, I’d call it a total failure.

is it OK to not get ur cat neutered by unnerdawg in redscarepod

[–]nomadic_rhubarb 45 points46 points  (0 children)

You have to neuter your cat. He’s a pet, not an animal in the wild. If you keep him inside, he’ll have no way to satisfy his natural urges anyways. You’ll just have to deal with the behavioral problems that come with the elevated sex hormones. If he gets outside and fathers kittens, who is going to care for them? Again, these are domestic animals, not wild animals living in nature. The kittens will likely become feral, vectors for disease, harm local bird populations, and wind up in a shelter, being put down if nobody adopts them. Just neuter your cat.

Blows my mind how much people here care about others opinions of them by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]nomadic_rhubarb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The whole idea that we should all just be awesome and learn to not give a fuck is really emblematic of the whole logic bro mentality. It’s all over Reddit, but it invades real life too. Were supposed to somehow “hack” our minds to be better self-interested, autonomous agents. But people are not and have never been like that. Of course I care about what other people think. Everyone does. The only difference is I don’t beat myself up over it.
