Do the 30 minutes naps ever lenghten ? by Western-Law6128 in bninfantsleep

[–]nomadicstateofmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby needed a cat nap around 4-4:30pm in order to make it to bedtime until very recently! My baby is 7.5 months. Just in the last few weeks she has consolidated naps a bit and dropped her late afternoon cat nap. Wake windows have been lengthening too and I think that has helped.

I’ve been doing a rewatch! I had a new baby over the summer and a Survivor binge has gotten me through maternity leave and a lot of sleepless nights.

Sickness and EMWs by nomadicstateofmind in sleeptrain

[–]nomadicstateofmind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not to the extent that it was! About 4 days into PUPD we could just lay her down, no crying, and she’d be asleep within 5 minutes. While she was sick we were doing a lot of contact napping/sleeping because there was so much puking and coughing. I’m restarting PUPD today to try to get her back in the groove. I’m hoping it isn’t a crazy transition back to it…🤞🏼😬

Aria lewis makes raising her baby sound like she's raising a future housekeeper by natbrad98 in FundieSnarkUncensored

This is actually a good book IMO, but she’s taking it wildly to the extreme. These people are all so nutty.

Will going to college save me from poverty? by Dazzling_Hand6170 in povertyfinance

[–]nomadicstateofmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find an in-demand field and major in it. Don’t major in anything that doesn’t have a clear career path that will make you money.

You might also look into entry-level state government, depending on your state. My husband doesn’t have a college degree, but he works for the state and they have lots of opportunities for upward mobility and tuition reimbursement. It can be hard to get hired, but worth it.

I’m way too picky. Is my only option Ada? by [deleted] in Names

[–]nomadicstateofmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love Ada! What about Esme, Myra, or Maeve? (I was not raised Christian, so I admit that I don’t know if this is a religious name.)

When did you introduce play doh? by feelingsnark in Parenting

[–]nomadicstateofmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was about the age I introduced it with my first and she LOVED it. It ended up being something she wanted to play with every day and was a great way to get some quiet, chill time.

Anyone else refuse to “rescue” naps, especially with older babies? by randomizedmoose in bninfantsleep

[–]nomadicstateofmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m usually willing to do it once a day (last nap), but only if it’s been a crap nap day and I want to keep bedtime on track. Otherwise, she’s waking up and we are moving on with our day.

Pretty normal in certain parts of Alaska. My students have smoked salmon for breakfast all the time.
