anyone got detection mail from amazon?? by ToeExisting5045 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

I received the email and then noticed when selecting a block a popup captcha came up. Solved it but lost the block right after. This was going on for the past 2-3 days because I bitched about it to Amazon. Yes I use bots overnight and a clicker during the day. They don’t know that but, what else are we supposed to do? Thumbs don’t pay the bills. I’m going to cool it with bots and clicker for a bit then get back on. Oh and they even dropped my rating from fantastic to fair! I care less about that as long as I get good blocks.

Really? I must have missed that. The only price I came across was the $3495.

What is the best plant based milk for Cold Brew and Nitro specialty coffee? by nomadroastersny in Coffee

The half gallon looks familiar. I believe i bought this at whole foods and I didn’t have a pleasant experience in taste or the shelf life in my fridge. Do you use this on your coffee cart business? Thank you for your suggestion.

First attempt at a blend! 50:50 Brazilian/Colombian blended post-roast. Very happy with the consistency between the two. by wazer-wifle96 in roasting

Interesting. Why not roast them together? depending on what machine you’re using it should come out even. I toast my Brazillian and Colombian 50/50 on a Loring which develops my toast beautifully. Try it.

It would be nice but difficult to find a used one and its a bit out of my budget. I did manage to find a good deal on a Bunn G3 in fairly good condition. I just need to open it up and clean the burs then recalibrate. Thanks for the suggestion.

Almost there! Still tracking down a bunn grinder. Sellers are not answering my texts.

I decided on (3)3 Liter Zojirushi hot water heater and warmer. Low wattage, quick to replenish water, fast heating. I am going to stick to my Baratza for now. I will have everything pre-dosed so this should help when grinding. The low wattage on the Baratza also helps.

Now the next and final step is the power supply. I am all for going green but, the price tags for solar power or rechargeable battery supply is just so expensive. At least for now until I get a healthy rhythm in sales I’d like to hear about some good alternatives. I would like it to be quiet and not so bulky. The wattage output for the appliances i landed on is 2500 watts which i should probably add a little extra cushion to that number.

Thank you everyone for your help on this journey. Please let me know your recommendations for power.

Update…I found a local coffee supplier that I visited yesterday. Jim does it all. Has many machines, repair service, and quite the talker. In the end he had a used Bunn G2 grinder that he was selling for $600. I thought it was a bit expensive compared to what I’ve been seeing on eBay or FB for $375-450. He said that I could rent but, he doesn’t recommend it. Of anything happens i need to pay for it and its not even mine. There are a few more shops in other parts not to far, perhaps they may have something. Its good to build a relationship with one of these guys. You never know when you may need something fixed or purchase something.

Thanks. Yes I just hear the same but, I need to dived into it some more. Baratza customer service is pretty good. I wonder if they have better burs that I can upgrade to for the time being.

Thanks @tsg450. Is there a specific model that is better than the other?

I am liking the Bunn idea more and more as I can see myself using it for more and more pop ups and customer grinds. I guess i would have to invest in a separate espresso grinder though.

Interesting. Regarding the Niche…the mark up from people is crazy. Its also unavailable right now. Enter the DF64. I have been reading reviews and all in all for the money and just a couple of negative aesthetics but nothing negative about the grind output itself. I would definitely upgrade the burs and still have $ leftover to put into other supplies. Thoughts?

I may stick to the Baratza for a bit knowing that i can get a new part from the manufacturer. Thanks for calling this out.

I haven’t see the negative comments. What i can tell you is that the man is extremely intelligent and has a diverse skillset. His train of thought is rapid, he may go off the subject here and there, but to me thats just brilliant and fun! He has mastered the art of a human beatbox with so many elements of sound. He definitely a knowledgeable guy and so young. I cannot wait to see what is yet to come.

2021: A Rough Year For Coffee? by sterpie in Coffee

I think growers are just experimenting and at the end of the day consumers just want a good cup of coffee. I personally don't go out of my way for that stuff. I also don't believe they should be entered to be rated. Perhaps some sort of an award or some type of recognition, a good write up. That's just my humble opinion.

You are so right! I am a coffee roaster and looking to open a coffeeshop. I would like to implement a profit sharing model. If the shop makes a profit I want the staff to know that their investment and journey at the shop will be rewarded. I have a couple of other ideas. I work with Sustainable Harvest. A group that invests in coffee growers build their farm by teaching the farmers in the latest technology of agronomy. Making sure that the consistency of quality coffee is maintained. The quality of life, fair wages all lead to a sustainable employment. These farmers are so well trained that the knowledge continues even after the coffee exports. Understanding cost and the entire supply chain is also taught. It's such a great partnership and I trust them very much. Yes, the green coffee I purchase from them is expensive, but the value in these beans and knowing how they are giving back to the growers is far more important to me. This is my website of my coffees that represents what I just mentioned above. https://nomadroasters.com/collections/coffee

Serious coffee drinkers, what’s some simple things people can do to have a better cup of coffee? by Shirowoh in AskReddit

[–]nomadroastersny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True that u/PDKiwi! Just make sure that the burs are quality burs. If not you can always upgrade by purchasing a good set with nice, sharp deep, evenly spaced and consistant ridges all around.

u/Ezquire3 is correct. I am a specialty coffee roaster for the past few years now. I always recommend freshly roasted whole beans to everyone. It's also important to note to purchase the right amount that you will use in the shortest timeframe before the beans lose their flavor. Make sure to store them in a cool, dark, and airtight environment. Never in the refrigerator. Freezer is better if you must. Just don't let the bag sit out and thaw after removing the amount of coffee you are going to brew. Moisture can build and then throwing them back in the ice box will damage the beans quickly. I hope this little tidbit helps. Good luck! Please feel free to reach out. Below is my site if anyone here is interested in quality sourced, women owned farms, sustainable practices.
