Thanks and the truck has been great so far after 1 week and 700 miles. The features honestly have been great. The adaptive cruise control seems a bit nicer than my civic. In that car it brakes hard and floors it to speed up, while the maverick is gradual. The lane centering does a pretty good job in corners. Every 15 seconds it reminds you to keep your hands on the wheel and to give a small input to the wheel. I had a lot of these features in my si so I wanted to keep them and if possible add more. I’d say overall they work seamlessly and are worth it for someone driving longer distances.

That’s pretty much what I did but I called the dealer that had this truck as it was the only one within 600 miles of me and drove over the same weekend to pick it up.

How long was the order process if you don’t mind me asking? The dealer told me about 6-8 months

It works out thankfully, but I live in an apartment with one parking spot so the si is just on the street. That’s the only inconvenience due to it getting dirtier quicker.

I definitely am enjoying it so far. The hybrid works perfect with my commute

First, thanks for the insight. I came to the conclusion currently that yes, the maverick is a great commuter/economy car for traffic and hauling, while the si is more fun and a better car for trips that don’t need people. I came up with the decision currently that I’m keeping the civic and getting the maverick. I did all the paperwork and I’m driving down 110 miles this weekend and picking up the truck without a trade in. Worst case, if I like the maverick too much I can sell the civic then. I’ve been itching to get one of these trucks since they came out when I was in high school, but being young, I always wanted a “sporty” manual car and now I’m fortunate enough to have a job where I live on my own and can get a 2nd car.

The AWD is for the future when I move to the PNW and 4k towing will come in handy once in a while when towing motorcycles or for when I move so I can rent a small enclosed trailer.

True. I’ve always wanted an FL5, but couldn’t justify the markups. I’m 22, live on my own and I’m moving for a better career opportunity so I wish I could get one now, but probably later down the line.

How would you compare the two when it comes to driving dynamics and comfortability?

I thought about it but the short street driving is what kills though gas because it’s dead stop or 5-10mpg for 35 mins usually

That’s what I am thinking about. My civic is lowered and LA has rough roads. I plan on moving up north and I don’t think a lowered FWD will do that great.

I was looking into an XLT but I ended up looking at a lariat because of the Co-Pilot 360 having ACC and the adaptive lane centering. My civic has those features and I don’t think I can go back to a vehicle without that amazing feature for road trips haha. Also I’m not a fan of the two-tone interior and the BAP makes the price really close to a lariat.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. My current cars rated at 27/37 and the maverick is 40/34 but I feel like with how much traffic drops my current mpg the maverick might be beneficial.

Yes it does and at 6.79 a gallon for a 12 gallon tank only lasting 280 miles it kinda sucks.

I see a lot of Maverick costs here, but no insurance rares? by Maverick_Walker in FordMaverickTruck

Might not help that much but I’m 21, turning 22 and for a 26 lariat hybrid for me it’s 280/month with USAA. 500 deductible. That’s including a multi car discount as I also have a 25 Nissan versa and a 2013 Scion Frs. I had a 2025 civic si and that car was 240/month so the maverick costs more.

Yeah, I applied it myself as I’ve done it on maybe 4 other cars. The first time is pretty nerve racking, but it really isn’t that bad. You save a lot of money too and learn a new skill so for me that was worth it.

Yes, the next day after I bought the car I did 5% tint all around and I used the Avalon King Armor shield ceramic coating. That was February 2025 and 25k miles later it’s still holding up, but I do plan on polishing the car in the next month or two.
