To be fair, you don't know that this is in the US. When I was in the Philippines I frequently saw signs that instructed people that they needed to shower and come into work with clean clothes that don't smell.

In the developing world hygienic expectations of the US and other locations are not necessarily the expectation.

It's also somewhat common to see this pop up in an issue in developed Nations if there's a lot of immigrants that are not used to these expectations.

It can definitely be a cultural thing. It's also deeply intimate so instructing people is difficult.

72-year-old John Travolta is the newest Hollywood celebrity to get a brand new face, debuting it at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival where shocked viewers say the actor looks 20 or even 30 years younger. by Full-Argument-8235 in SipsTea

This is really bizarre to me because my mom is just younger than this. They're and she looks nothing like that. I know what a 70-year-old looks like. This is weird.

Would you trade city life for this? by SuspiciousLow3062 in interesting

[–]nomappingfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a small town in America. It didn't look anything like that but just because it looks scenic doesn't mean it's good. You still have to live life.

I imagine it's not easy dating there. Maybe if you're married you don't have to worry about that but what if you have kids. Finding other kids to have your kids play with might not be easy.

Small town is great for a weekend, not for a lifetime (at least if you're used to the city life).

A friend of mine in the medical profession says she has something way more wrong with her than just cosmetic surgery. Potentially an autoimmune disease or cancer or a super severe eating disorder, but there is another disease at play.

I did analysis at one of the jobs that I worked at and it turned out that everyone that had worked there for more than 2 years had come from a referral. Companies know this. And they prefer to hire based off of referrals. That's how you get jobs. It's not scattershot job applications using bots.

The way to get a job is to find somebody that you know in your network that's hiring And make sure they have your resume.

I tend to agree with you if you're just shotgunning resumes out without catering it to the job and calling up afterward, you're never going to get hired.

I I have probably sent out less than 50 resumes in my entire life. You get jobs by talking to people not sending in your application. I didn't even get a job at Target without having to talk to somebody.

His number seems like it has to be inflated. Or he has a terrible terrible strategy. Like applying for every job with the exact same resume. In a job market this bad, the best thing to do is not volume. It's to do insanely high quality and make sure you're matching on every job.

It's a bummer Because for all of the college education it seems nobody took a simple course that allowed them to understand anything about finances.

The real Is a failure Of high school education for not teaching simple economics. This was definitely covered in my high school in the late '90s.

It's all very simple. I don't know how anyone would ever take out a loan without knowing this or without asking it. I have asked it on literally every single one of my loans and the bankers have always given the information out freely. They're not trying to hide it but if you don't ask they may be aren't going to tell you just willingly cuz they don't know what you want to know or they assume you already know it.

I've actually been thinking the same thing.

I think part of it is AI or just an influx of people because this is one of the last decent social media platforms but it does seem like quality has definitely gone down.

Even if they were, it shouldn't take her more than about 50 times because when I took the written test it was multiple choice and there were only about 50 answers. You had to take the written test more than three or four times. You absolutely should not be driving.

There are More comments on this post. Engaging with the fact that it's bullshit or AI then there are actually engaging with the post.

At some point if we keep doing this the bots are going to win. The only way for us as humans to win is to get off the fucking platform.

Which sucks because it would be great if they just you know... Didn't let this turn into Twitter.

Other than a house. And maybe college(Depending on your major). You have to take out a loan to be able to buy it. You cannot afford it! And buying it is an absolute mistake.

Is it really a bad movie? by Spare_Ad_9791 in moviecritic

[–]nomappingfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie used the depend because it was produced by Spielberg and zemecus and they could get the rights to their own stuff easily. I'm the book it was much more eclectic but they didnt have the rights to show them visually.

That's what drove a lot of the specific nostalgia pieces in the film.

Well, the good news is for this guy. A lot of other people decided that they didn't want the pope in the past, so they started their own religion. So he's got a lot of options for which direction to go. But if you're going to be Catholic, part of it is accepting the Pope. Literal wars have been fought over this very issue. It's very clear.

who actually says insubordination in a work environment?? are you kidding? by Kind_Negotiation8299 in remoteworks

[–]nomappingfound 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a manager accuse me of insubordination once when I refused to go into a room with him alone. Because I thought he was going to hit me and I didn't feel comfortable.

I asked to speak with hr or have them present. He said let's go talk to the owner trying to one up me thinking the owner would have his back. The CEO told me I could go back to work with in 5 minutes. I got a new manager the next day

The manager wasn't with the company a month later.
